Sig Sauer P226

So, after a weekend of waiting, the transfer of my new firearm was approved. I picked up a Sig P226 in .40S&W from Wanstalls. I have nothing but good things to say about Wanstalls. I bought my DDM4V5 from them, and I couldn't be happier with the service they provide. Top notch group of guys over there.

I'm familiar with handguns of the striker fired variety, and 1911's, but I don't have much trigger time with DA/SA Pistols. Figured the Sig was a good place to start.

The gun just shipped today, so it'll be a couple of days before I can collect her. When she arrives, I'll be sure to take A LOT of pictures and record my initial impressions on this thread.

The 226 are great shooters and will spoil you for lesser guns...I couldn't believe the difference! The d/a trigger pull is very crisp and perfectly repeatable.

I've heard that from a few different people now. My understanding of the SRT Kit, is that it reduces the travel or something like that. Could you explain what it does?

It shortens the reset of the trigger in single action mode. It makes the reset about 2-3mm which will put a big smile on your face when you want to mag dump.

Funny enough, I'm coming from an M&P40. I hated the trigger on it. I'm more than happy to pay good money for a quality firearm.

Funny... Everytime this comes up, nobody can give actual example. It happened to you?
I have both US and German-made SIGs, both goes bang and on target everytime, without any issues

Funny enough, I'm coming from an M&P40. I hated the trigger on it. I'm more than happy to pay good money for a quality firearm.

M&Ps are great service sidearms...simple and reliable to shoot, and the trigger can easily be improved.

Sigs are also great sidearms, but mastering the DA/SA trigger takes time and dedication and lots of regular practice (I have a P226 in .40 and a brand new P227). I shoot my Sigs SA only right now so as to not mess up my muscle memory for shooting my M&P, but it's still good fun...

I've had 5 different Sig's the last few years (upgrading/trying)... all were impeccable. Everyone brings up the poor QC, yet nobody can show any examples. Plastic gunning fanboys always have to rain on the parade.

Love my 226 Elite 9mm, it's well worth the money. Buy some factory .40 magazines and you'll be able to run 12-13 rounds of 9mm in them, legally. Great pistols, sorry I sold my P239, loved that little gun.
