Well I'm in the market for a new 45 da/SA and I had my heart set on a p220 sig
I have a 226 9mm and love it so I figured a p220 would be a nice safe buddy for my p226
The model I want is on back order and will be a month or so to get in
But they have the p227 as it's a new model I have yet to try one out on the range and was just curious what you fellow gun nutz think about the p227 ? I have read the reviews in guns and ammo etc . But I think reviews in magazines are a crock of s**t ( if you write a bad review no one will have you one again)
So I am asking for a review from you guys ( seeing as most of you don't receive monitry compensation for your .02$

Thank you

I am wanting to buy one myself. The only downside to the Sig P227 that I have heard is the crappy trigger (which can be replaced) and the high bore axis that is common to all Sig P22X series but is more noticeable in .45ACP

I had the pleasure of shooting a 227 last weekend. My buddy bought one at the CSC. I have 2 226's and the 227 is virtually the same gun but it just happens to shoot 45's.

Crappy trigger? Not in my opinion, it felt nice and just like the SRT but I'm not sure that it is. The grip is a little fatter than the 220 but not that much.

Right out of the box it shot 200 rounds with out a single problem. It's a 45 and has a little more kick that a 9mm but felt a lot better than the 226 in 40.

When buddy shoots at 10 yards there is one big hole in the center of the target with 100 bullets contributing to it. For the first day it shot very well and as I have witnessed any accuracy issues would be the result of the shooter and not the gun...

Will see how it holds up but at this point I highly recommend the 227. It's a sig through and through some love to hate them and some just love them...

I watched both the reviews from nutnfancy
And gun smoke ( the dude with the double braided beard)
Both of them seem to like it a lot also went through a bunch of other forums for reviews too but I still not sure
I mean the p220 is tried tested and true . But then again the p227 is a new model an has great reviews

The main difference is Mag capacity.
I love my 220 and the thinner grip and I love my 226s grip too (especially aluminium grip).
Can't go wrong with any of them. For me, the reason I am not looking at the 227 is pinned mags.
I have 10 rds mags for my 220 and they look cool

Picked one up a couple weeks ago from CSC and mounted it in SIG's Adaptive Carbine Platform (LE type) with an EOTECH MRDS and Gear Sector vertical grip. Pretty slick system.

I bought a P227 a couple of months ago and I like it. Accurate and no malfunctions after 400 rounds. The grip is a little fat but I have big hands so its okay for me. Very little recoil for a 45 and very controllable for follow up shots. My only complaint is the trigger but I've gotten used to IPSC guns, so I might just be too spoiled with triggers.

BTW finding a mag pouch took me a while and nobody could help. So if you're looking for one the MP05 double mag pouch from Sig fits perfectly. Or any mag pouch designed for the USP 45 or Taurus 24/7 45. As for the holster it is the same as a P220R.

I got one, I like it. It fits all my 226 holsters, I added the SRT kit as soon as I brought it home, but the stock trigger felt fine, I'm just use to the SRT as all my other sigs have it.
