Anyone have one? I have a guy trying to trade me one for one of my rifles and finding info on them is not easy. I did find some people suggesting that the first ones had some quality control issues with mags and feed ramps. And a couple of people said they loved them.

Were the issues sorted out? What are they worth? I admittedly am not a "handgun guy". Only knowing enough to get me by and have some fun.

I haven't heard of any problems. They tend to be more sought after than the P220 because of the 10 rounds and the Equinox is bit of a step up.

Hard to gauge price. i'm thinking you could unload quickly at around 900 but it could fetch 1100+ depending on condition and if you hit the right buyer.

I bought a new 220 Equinox ( regular 8rd mags ) just for the visual appearance alone for $1200.It took several months after placing the order at my local gun store for it to arrive, and I wasn't disappointed in the way it looked. The accuracy is on par with most of Sigs service grade guns and it's functioned fine with 230gr. FMJ and 185gr. FMJ flat points ( factory and reloads ).

With fixed sights ( Tritium ) and regular reset trigger,it doesn't come close to the accuracy of my Springfield Armory Range Officer Elite.

I believe all the Equinox models were made in Sig's custom shop on a limited production basis, but were simply built for the appearance factor alone.

I guess you'll have to decide if the 227 is close to the value of the gun your trading, and whether you're expecting appearance over accuracy.

I am on my second P227. The first was a full sized nitron. It functioned flawlessly. No issues with mags and I had both styles, the early ones marked .45 and the later marked 45ACP. I sold it to upgrade to an Enhanced Elite version, absolutely love it. I have 3 Legions, I had the ESE P227 Cerakoted Sig gray to match the Legions, bought black checkered G10 grips from Hogue and had MD Carleton fit Xray3 sights and give her a trigger job. Super happy with the results, it shoots as well as the P220 Legion. I find it a bit thicker feel than the P226 but not a lot different. All in all a great pistol, I shoot it well with medium sized hands and would do it all again in a heart beat.
