Sig Sauer Range Day!

is this sold out now? forgot to buy a ticket and now it's not showing on the website. any chance of picking one up in store or the day of?

Ok everyone

A reminder, the Range Day is this Saturday. There are aprox 10-15 passes still left for purchase. They can be purchased in store or at the range day of. So everyone is aware it will be first come first serve on the day of for range passes.

Once we have sold out we are at capacity.

Thanks to all who made this happen.
My wife and I got to shoot a bunch of different guns and really enjoyed the day.
It was hot and there were lineups. Wanstalls staff worked their butts off organizing shooters and providing beverages and hotdogs. (Really good dogs) :)
The lineups were fine as it gave us an opportunity to meet and talk with some very nice people.
I really liked shooting the 226 and 227. I would pick a 226 though personally. (Both if I could swing the $$)
My wife really liked the 320 and shot it a couple of times.

I had three trips through the rifle area and shot a 516 with iron sites. Twice, I shot a 716 with a scope. Both were great.
I've never shot an AR rifle before and I really liked it. Of course I've read a lot about them but this was the first time handling them.
I am definitely going to buy an AR now. My wife is not convinced that she needs one but I'll start off with a 5.56x45 so we can both enjoy it.

Thanks again to Wanstalls, Sig Sauer, and MD Charlton for putting on the event and TMSA for hosting it.
Oh, and guys, get in some magazines and mirage bands for the SSG 3000. Yeah, I'm that guy. :)

A big thank you to Wanstalls for putting this event on. Despite the heat and long lines, I still managed to have an excellent time. I hope you look at putting events like these on on a regular basis, as it is a great way to try some new guns out so that I can make some purchasing decisions and give you my money. ;)

A big thank you to Wanstalls for an awesome day - as previously said, it was hot, busy, and utterly fantastic. Beautifully managed, especially given the crowds of people who turned out, and the food, drinks, guns, range officers and Wanstalls staff were all incredible! The SSG3000 and Sig 716 DMR stand out as especially great for me, but the three of us who attended in our group enjoyed them all! Thanks again - you will be getting more of my money, as you know! :)

I had a great time at this event! The staff were top notch, the guns were a blast and I think everyone was smiling. Thank you Wanstalls, and keep up the great work!

Alright. Let me be the one who has to wear the flame suit.

First and foremost me and my buddy had a great time.

Positives:

#1 It was a GREAT DEAL! $35 to shoot ten magazines of Sig Sauer firearms! EZ sell! The ammo afterwards was also a great deal ($2 for 9mm & 556 / $4 for 45ACP & 762)
#2 The hotdogs were delish! And lots of bevvies!
#3 I appreciate the swag (I am sooo gonna make my credit card hurt with the discount card!)
#4 Everyone was very cordial and the guys at Wanstalls did their best given the circumstances.

With that being said...

#1 The lineups were too long... they said they did not expect the turnout they got. Ummm... the event was close to being a sell out a week out. You guys had to know how many of us gunnutz were showing up.
#2 They only brought two magazines per pistol. I would have happily volunteered to reload while people shot, but there were no spare magazines! Definitely a rookie mistake.
#3 Now this is only speculation & hearsay. Grapevine says Wanstalls overbooked this event. Meaning some people who came after the event was effectively sold out and were still allowed in. I truly hope that is not true because I would be very disappointed if that were the case.

If the lineups were due to Wanstall's being new to this and they got a bit overwhelmed, I certainly could understand and I would be first in line the next time we have something similar.

Overall I give this a 7 out of 10. Considering its Wanstall's first crack at a Range day, that's a pretty solid score and warants another one.

BRING MORE MAGAZINES!

Big thanks to everyone who joined us at this great event! It was a huge success.

We appreciate any constructive suggestions moving forward for future events.

To dispel any rumours, we sold tickets to capacity and did not over sell the event.

Thanks to everyone at Wanstalls, the Sig reps, and everyone who helped out. I had a great day and hope they have similar things like this on a regular basis with different manufacturers and different ranges in the Lower Mainland. Nobody really complained with the line ups but more like waiting in line at an amusement park. Everyone hung out and talked guns anyway. This is the first time I got to shoot a .308 semi in 35 years since I got to shoot the FN as a teenager in Cadets :( *snif*. Wish List: Maybe have 2 separate ranges (rifle/pistol) with more firearms, magazines and Maglulas. More door prizes rather than one big one. Ice cream :dancingbanana:

yes I'm very glad that I attended this event! It was a great experience. Everybody was friendly and seemed really into it. I shot 2 ARs, an amazing AR chambered in .308, a sig 1911 and a p227 .45acp. The last gun I shot was the p227 and it surprised the hell out of me! loved it! - felt great. I've never shot a gun so well first time - was hitting the steel plates "ding, ding, ding"

thanks wanstalls and crew

Lots of fun, and the guys from Wanstalls - Craig, Matt, Dan, and the rest of the boys made the event super accessible for the uber newbies.

I gotta feeling this is gonna be a regular event!

Good times.

Abby

I had a great time as well. It was a bit hot but that not the fault of the organizers (some would say it's a good thing in rainy old Vancouver). I saw the staff working really hard to make everyone's day as enjoyable as possible. I'd agree with the sentiments above that there should have been more magazines to speed up the line but I think overall the event went well and it was a good learning experience for Wanstalls. I hope you guys hold a similar event in the future as I really want to have another opportunity to try out so many different firearms.

from what I heard they had ordered more mags but they just didn't arrive in time for the event. I was there from 10:15 - 15:00 and i felt like the issue with the line was that everybody showed up at the beginning of the day. Near the end we could just choose what to shoot and even got some time to look at the different models and talk to the sig reps about them. I think next time a good idea would be sell tickets for certain blocks of time ie. 10:00 - 12:00 and 12:00 - 2:00. Another idea to speed things up could be to have a different time or range for PAL/RPAL holders so we didn't have to go over basic safety every time we picked up a gun. Although I did appreciate the time you put into safety for those who have never fired or had limited use of firearms before. For my first range day it was an absolute blast, will definitely be going to the next one.
