Does anyone know how these reflex sights actually mount does the slide of the pistol need machining or do they use the dovetail for rear sight?

You can buy a dovetail adapter to mount it. From what I've read, there isn't a whole lot of material on the top of the slide to mill off but some folks have had it done. I use an adapter for a Vortex Venom on one of my 226 slides. Takes some getting used to as it sits high.
