Hello, I have just obtained a .40 S&W Sig Sauer SP2340 as part of a package deal.
It appears to be in great condition. But it's not a model I have any familiarity with.

It does have a Fire Dragon Match Barrel in it which is neat.

Does anyone know anything about these pistols at all. Or what they would be worth ? There were none on the exchange to compare it with.

Thanks in advance !

There are a number of related threads on pistol-forum dot com.

France adopted a version of it (in 9mm) for issue to French national police (and it was featured on The Bourne Identity). That's the only really large contract of which I am aware.

Apparently Demi Moore's character used a 2340 in Mr. Brooks.

It's an outstanding handgun. In 9mm it's great, in .40 the recoil is a bit harsh. That said, it is the best built Polymer pistol and was years ahead of it's time. Very solid, reliable, accurate and pretty good triggers. Problem is it came out right when striker fired gun were ramping up and got a bit over looked because of that. Some say that's it's actually a bit better design than the P226.

great pistol..but, yes snappy in .40, need adapter for any rail equipment, if you get DAO hammer box assembly get Beretta 92 hammer spring and cut some coils off to lighten trigger, Id say around $500 but every one wants more current pistols. i also have the 2022 in 9mm for the wife if she ever gets her restricted...

Good to know, thanks for the info. It seems like a good little gun to shoot, the only problem is that it is so little. Just feels a little small in the hands.

It seems like a good piece, someone did say it was one of the first and best polymer frame guns.
I had never heard of it previously and there doesn't seem to be a lot of them out there. Too bad it got overlooked !

Swiss Arms, formerly SIG AG, now Sig Sauer AG.....again full circle!......Had developed the Sig PRO before the Glock.
It was presented to management and they said, shelve it, no-one wants to buy a plastic pistol......Unfortunate corporate mistake.

For anyone who is Armorer trained or inclined and have torn apart and have experience with multiple platforms.....you know that the Sig Pro is by far the "beefy-ist", strongest and best built polymer handgun in existence.
