SIG SAUER SSG 3000 Review

Living vicariously until my FDE SSG300 shows up. Nice rifles being posted! Makes the wait even harder though.

machinistbutler,

Guy at Wolverine Supplies found me a Sauer match barrel for the STR 200 (Uses same barrels as the SSG3000) chambered in 6.5x55 SKAN. Last winter I sourced a barrel adapter in Denmark that allows me to have any barrel fitted. I had a Shilen SS match barrel chambered in .243 Win from another project, I then had my gunsmith re-thread and fit/headspace the barrel to the adapter and bolt. It is kind of nice being able to switch between the 3 calibers, takes about 10 minutes.

Thanks for the reply Tfunfer! I may have to give them a call! I have an S&L in 6.5, and I think the ssg in that caliber would be great. Hundreds of thousands of Scandinavians sure like them!

I'm certain that is on range three at Sharon Gun Club.

Need some help here!

Got home grizzly brake arrived. Trying to get the muzzle flash off.

Already loosened the screw on the bottom but the muzzle flash isnt budging. Do you know if they loctite the sucker on there?

Im thinking of sticking something through the holes and turning it. Have to find something that will fit though...

That sig 3000 is one accurate rifle. The only thing wrong is the stock, I heard there is a new stock is coming out.

At shot shot they had a Chassis system with folder. I think though it was actually for the Blazer and an attempt for a military contract if I recall correctly from the write up. But the cost was also high again. I will say right now that our problems would be solved with excellent stocks if Robertson Composites was still making stocks. Really sad to see them stop. Those stocks were better than Macmillian, Canadian made and less expensive. I'm hoping the regular stock is good. It actually looks decent enough. If it's solid then I'll be fine with it.

They still have their site active -> http://www.robertsoncomposites.com/index.php

Looks like they are still in business.

It is available and can be imported into Canada - Contact Vault Distribution

Part number is RSSG-H24B-308-SOF

Probably have a long wait time to get to you.

You can if you want to, but it wouldn't be cheap, easily over $1500 with folding, mean while I help myself to so excess aluminum.

This chassy fit very nice.
