I've been creeping in this forum for some time now, and have yet to jump into a gun. I keep making plans of turning one of my many rifles into a build. Then start changing my mind into buying one of the big brand out of box rifles. Then I walk away, then come back and start all over again.

So I was just bored and was browsing one of the sponsors sites. This rifle came up? I never heard of it, nor do I ever see it on this forum? It has some nice claims, anyone use it? It just seems very inexpensive for what it claims to be.

Thanks

From all I've seen online, it's a sweet deal.

If I didn't already have a precision .308, I'd snap one up in a heartbeat. Even as a LH shooter... I could get used to the RH action on that gun!

I bought one online Thursday, this rifle is a must, you get custom rifle accuracy for half the price and Sig is one of the top maker, cant go wrong, stroll around Youtube, you will see group of 1.5 inch at 500 yards (.3 MOA) with factory ammo, sub MOA with factory ammo, imagine what it will do with a rolled one... JP.

epps has the SSG3000 Patrol on their site for less than 2 grand. only diff between the older 3000 and the patrol is it doesn't have the McMillan stock on it.

The new ones are availables at Wantsalls for 1765.00, go on their site they still show some in stock... JP.

yup same gun as at epps. very nice gun. i want to get one myself, but i dont have the moola right now. the stock isnt to bad, the cheek riser isnt the most stable, but it does the trick.

WOW! Out of the box?

all 4 i have looked at have 5 shot groups like that. 5 rounds under a loonie at 100 yards using factory ammo. reviews i have read said that getting .4 moa at 100 yards is simple with hand loads. with possible to get 1 hole groups.

Theres no such thing as US made version with McMillian Stock. As of this moment, all the barrel and actions are from Germany. The more expensive Euro version comes with the McMillian and the new "Patrol" Rifles come with the American stocks.

I was actually one of the first ones to get my hands on these back in September. Its too bad I haven't gotten a change to put many rounds through her. I'm personally tempted to get a shorty for kicks :D

My only concern is that the stock scratches easy. Everything else seems to be rock solid for the price.

3 Models that are being made in the USA (see below)

Please correct me if I'm wrong. I got these model numbers from a very reliable source who deals with Sig USA.

RSSG-H24B-308-P: 23.5" barrel, 1:12" twist, patrol stock w/ integral aluminum bedding

RSSG-H24B-308: 23.5" barrel, 1:12" twist, McMillan stock

RSSG-H24B-308-SOF: 23.5" barrel, 1:12" twist, folding aluminum chassis

Cheers

Wow am I on Canadiangunnutz??? Lmao 2 pages and no one had anything bad to say.

I'm going to look into these. I think the gun looks great, obviously based on some of the above reports shoots well. And that price you can't beat.

Other than complaints about the non mcmillan stocks, I have heard nothing but good reports. For out of the box performance for less than 2k, the value cant be argued when the next gun up would be a trg22 for more than twice the price.

I just picked one of these up yesterday, so far so good as the build quality seems to be excellent. The action feels like it's riding on ball bearings and the finish on everything is beautiful. I was looking at some .308 rifles in the $1000 range but ultimately decided to get what I really wanted which was the SSG. I'm going to try it tonight, although just at a 100m range with the 3-9x Leupold borrowed off of my AR for now just so I can put some rounds down range.

I am sure aming for a .1 -.2 MOA rifle with a good rolled one... JP.

You've got your sights set at the moon.

Nice rifles. I've heard a lot of good too. If they had it offered in 6.5CM I'd buy one.

I've also heard the barrels were US made too. The German one has a different barrel and action, although the US ones still have a version of imported action. Who knows if that's right.
