Sig Sauer SSG3000 advice?

The ssg 3000 patroll has a quick change barrel as well. 3 screws on the bottom on the reciever and the bbl slides out. Supposedly there is a barrel adapter so you can put any barrel on not just sig barrels.

Best at what? There's no doubt that it's an accurate well rounded cartridge but how do you qualify such a statement?

Just by looking were the Cie spend their money, you will find out that most of the cool models that go out are either in 308 or 223 and ballisticly, i just think that it is the most balanced combination of power, accuracy and charisma... To be happy in life, i need to have my loves ones sound and safe and have a full safe of 308, to this day, it is the only caliber i will buy without needing the rifle, i will have it because i am a addict to the legendary 3-0-8... JP.

3 Models that are being made in the USA (see below)

Please correct me if I'm wrong. I got these model numbers from a very reliable source who deals with Sig USA.

RSSG-H24B-308-P: 23.5" barrel, 1:12" twist, patrol stock w/ integral aluminum bedding

RSSG-H24B-308: 23.5" barrel, 1:12" twist, McMillan stock

RSSG-H24B-308-SOF: 23.5" barrel, 1:12" twist, folding aluminum chassis

Cheers

Yup. You're right there.

By the way, I have a us ssg3000 in McMillan stock ;). Haven't seen the aluminum folding stock yet though but I'm sure they'll eventually find their way to the shelves. Ive only seen only one McMillan stocked ssg from the us plant (mine)

Oh and as you asked the pricing on the us made McMillan stocked is about 2800. Figure the extra 1000 for the McMillan stock (which is about the going rate on their website) and a nicer hard case than the patrol version. No bipod or mirage band included (unlike the German made version).

I've also heard the barrels were US made too. The German one has a different barrel and action, although the US ones still have a version of imported action. Who knows if that's right.

Nope. Barrels are clearly stamped made in Germany. From what I've heard the bolts are made in Germany too. Receiver is stamped "Exeter, NH" But I don't see any made in USA markings but I believe it is made in their Exeter plant

Has anyone handled the ssg3000 target that cabelas is Carrying? It's a different stock and barrel but I
think it's all German made because it doesn't have the integrated picatinny rail. Only references I can find online is German websites. The price tag is 2800$ PLUS TAXES. The muzzle brake isn't removable neither, does anyone think this is an issue? It does come with an extra clip and the bipod., Any Intel would be appreciated as my cabelas store doesn't have one on stock to handle and fondle
