Finally got my Scorpion!

My initial observations:
Seems to be built like a tank
Stellar fit and finish
Smooth Action
Nice weight and feel
Grips are unbelievable

I am waiting on some Wilson Combat 47D mags as I have heard the factory Sig ones leave a bit to be desired.

Scorpion's new home - Hard to get a decent picture with Stainless Steel as a back ground!

This is my first .45ACP 1911 (The GSG hardly counts), but it will not be my last........

I sense a Nighthawk coming soon......

I was actually looking at that one to replace my Tan Para CDN forces edition... Got the Sig Target Stainless for now... But if the sig runs well I will pick this one up as well...

Hows the rail on it... is it MIM or machined... Just wondering since my para POS was MIM and wouldn't take my X400

I would say it is machined (seems to be all one casting with frame). I don't know that I've seen a MIM one before so I may be incorrect.

I'm a fan of Sig 1911's myself, have a Carry stainless model and it's well made accurate gun. Great size too!

Never seen the Scorpion in person, is the finish some kind of a paint job? It doesn't look like stainless.

Hey Lugger, the finish is called cerakote, colour is Desert Tan. Supposed to be quite durable, time will tell.

Edit.....did you mean the gun doesn't look stainless because I said "it is hard to get a decent picture with stainless steel as a background"?

I am referring to my gun room walls being done in stainless steel, and being hard for someone who knows as much about photography as he does about astrophysics, to get a good shot.

Very nice collection there! That looks like a Sig P226 Elite stainless in there as well.... .40 S&W or 9mm? I just put money down on one today in .40, and I'm looking forward to it. Also have the Sig 1911 Stainless carry, and as mentioned a super accurate and well made piece, as is my P226, and the P220 Equinox....my habit looks somewhat like yours, not quite as extensive but getting there. I like your display.

I had the opportunity to shoot my friends Sig Scorpion. (He bought it after shooting my Sig BlackWater 1911).
The Scorpion shot very nicely in comparison to mine but did not like chambering Wolf reloads. I'm guessing it needed to be broken in a bit.
They're beautiful HG's! I even considered picking up the Scorpion Carry version.

Congrats! Got my Scorpion last week as well. It's my new favourite (still love my P226 though). Scorpion 1st Shot = Dead Centre Bullseye.

Not too sure about the Creokote finish though. Already a little wear on the slide rails after first shoot. The Warranty Card for the finish (1 year) says no solvents and wash with WATER only. I hope G96 overspray doesn't leave a stain. I wonder if oil is okay?

That's a nice look on the 1911. Nice toy room, too. Gives me some inspiration for mine. What did you do for door security, if you don't mind providing some basic details? I'm building up my own room and I'm curious about door reinforcement, electronic combo locks, etc.

I fondled a Scorpion carry model a while back....very nice feel to it. I can see myself buying a Sig 1911 in the near future.

A little off topic (I hope you don't mind). Just wondering where you found the gun mat from? Did you buy it direct or can you find them up here?

eBay. Have one for P226, 1911, Glock 17, and AR15
