SIG SIG556xi

The little literature I've read says it's based off of the SG550 (but aren't the Specials?), but the video says something about a next-fen gas piston, so MAYBE it won't be classed a variant/prohib. We can hope right.

J996, what are you talking about knock offs?

The Classic Green/Black Special series are based off of the late version Sig 540 receiver, and thus are not variants of the 550 as the 540 predates the 550. It will definitely be classed as a variant as Sig Sauer is marketing it as the latest version of the 556, which is classed as a 550 variant.

These are Sig Sauer rifles, not Swiss Arms (the original/Swiss manufacturer who developed the original 540/550 series of rifles). Basically, the Sig Sauer 556 series are cheapened Americanized versions of the 550. This isn't to say that they're not decent rifles. Depending on the configuration, they retail for $1000-$2000 USD, much more affordable than the $3000+ SAN rifles we get... but they're just not the same...

*I don't usually shill, but when I do, it's for Swiss Arms.*
