Hey all,

I recently purchased a refurb Sig 226 9mm-- and have had no problems whatsoever-- but today it started acting up on me. At random it seemed, I'd fire the last round in the mag and the slide would fail to lock back. I was trying 2 different grains of ammo, but eventually both of them started doing this (again, at random intervals). I tried singling out each mag, and eventually both failed.

I cleaned the gun last week, and I had only put about 250 rounds through it when it started acting up... Any ideas?

It's most likely your grip; with the slide lock where it is, it is very common for shooters to rest their thumb on the lock, or enough "in the area" to apply pressure on it to keep the slide from locking open.

This is a really common thing for new Sig shooters. You are nudging the slde release and preventing the slde to lock open.

Caught myself doing this also, if you aren't looking for it, the randomess of the problem will confuse you.
