Has anyone tried any of the newer SIGs such as the Elite model? Anyone know what the Short Reset Trigger is like? How does it compare to the standard SA/DA SIG trigger?

Id like to no more about the SRT trigger as well ! Anyone handled one yet? Any of the dealers have them in yet ? Perhaps there is an SRT KIT that can be installed in a 226 ?

We have a few of the new P229 Elite's with SRT trigger. The guns have a custom made ( >105mm) ported barrel installed to make them legally saleable here in Canada as "Restricted".

The trigger is nice... you barely have to let up on the trigger to get reset and be able to fire again.

It feels absolutely 100% exactly the same as the standard trigger. The only difference is that it resets faster. If you're a bullseye shooter, there is no advantage, if you shoot IPSC, there's a slight advantage.

I'm going to get one retrofitted to my P226 because it does help with split times, but don't expect miracles if you get one.

How short is short anyway, and does it shorten the DA as well as SA pull?

There is a short trigger option, but I advise against it in most cases, the trigger is too short and the edge of the frame behind the trigger digs into your finger. Try before you buy. Depends on your fingers as to whether you can live with it, but really the solution is a thinner grip if you can't reach the trigger.

This is all great discussion btw.

Yes, I personally agree with Cybershooter on the short trigger replacement. For short fingered individuals, it might help on DA but in general it feels awkward for many for SA.

I find the P226 standard grip fine but if there are thinner grips to make it more P220-like, I'd be interested.

Cybershooter, which thin grips are you referring to?

Any idea when the kit and/or might be available en masse?

I know that Hogue and Sig wood grips a bit larger/fatter than plastic factory grips. but that's about as slim as you can get with P226.
