Sig to Norinco?

Gawd I hope so!!
I just bought such a set-up, a Norinco NP22 with a genuine Sig Sauer 226 converion kit in .22lr. It should be here Tuesday. The unit I bought had to be smithed apparently to fit a Norinco NP22 but I do not know how much of a job this is, I will see if I can post a pic to show the Sig slide and maybe it will be obvious.

I doubt it. Doesn't the Norinco frame have steel inserts somewhere to reinforce it?
I would imagine those would interfere...

Does anyone know if the SIG .22 conversion kit for the 226 will fit on a NP22?

I own both, the answer is no. The NP22 is based on the German version of the P226 with the cold rolled internal extractor slide, the Sig conversion kit is made for the American version of the P226 with the milled billet external extractor slide. The differences are subtle, but they will not fit on each other.

Sig mags will fit but not drop free in the NP22. The NP22 mags will work just peachy in a P226 for half the price.

Took delivery of my new Norinco NP22 and Sig Sauer .22 conversion kit today. Fit and finish are excellent on the conversion and whatever the smithing was that had been performed is not visible to my amateur eye. When I get time I will post pics.
It attaches and slides great on the Norinco. As soon as I get my LTATT I can offer a practical assessment of its firing properties.

The pics would be a great help, I'm an armchair gunsmith and if it doesn't look to serious I might take on the project myself.

I posted pics and started a new thread:

I hope the pics are enough to show those in the know what was necessary to make the Sig slide fit.

Glen
