Sig vs CZ

I still own a W. German P226 I bought 20 years ago and would never sell it.

My wife has a CZ Shadow she bought a couple years ago and she would never sell it.

I was shocked the first time I shot the CZ to find it was more accurate than my 226. That being said, I've shot a few CZ85s and 75s and while they feel good in the hand I've found when firing that the angle of the trigger combined with the recoil that my finger pushes my trigger finger into the bottom of the guard making it sore after just a few shots - maybe I'm doing something wrong or need some more time with it.

IMHO, I would say the CZ is more accurate and a fine gun, as is the Sig, but the Sig just fits my hand better - for my wife it's the CZ.

Shoot both and see which one suits you best. You won't go wrong either way.

Get the one that fits you best.

For me I prefer the CZ's over Sigs for fit. Your mileage may differ.

NAA.

CZ is heavier, has a lower bore axis(barrel sits lower so recoil results in less muzzle flip), a trigger at least as good as Sig's good trigger, and if your hands aren't large, the CZ grips better...all this makes it easier for a shooter with less experience to shoot better.

I own a Sig 226 enhanced elite with the srt trigger. Thousands of rounds through it it always goes bang. 6" groups at 15 yards all day long freehand. The gun will easily do better. On occasion I have done 2" groups at 10 yards. Love the gun but the grip is set for my daughter so the grip is a little small for me so trigger angle is not quite right.

I also own a CZ75TS which is the higher end tactical model. Long barrel race trigger etc. I do 4" groups at 15 yards straight out of the box. This gun is still new but I love it. If you can't shoot straight with this gun you can't shoot straight at all.

A choice between the two. I love them both. As a combat gun I would take the Sig, as a target gun the CZ. Wouldn't sell either of them. The fit and finish on the sig is a bit better but then it costs more to.

I intend to shoot them both till they die and then be buried with them one in each hand.

As others have said find the one that fits you the best and go for it. There is always a chance of a dud but mine are good and I wouldn't hesitate to buy either.

As Grinder said, he'd carry the Sig in a combat situation and the CZ at the range. That's basically why the CZ isn't that popular in the US...down there a lot of people want to shoot what they'll carry concealed sometimes. A lot of them have a little gun for the warmer months and a larger gun for the colder times of the year, when it's easier to conceal a full size handgun in heavier clothes. The CZ is heavy, and for them it's harder to conceal and more of a burden to carry all day than a lighter polymer pistol...even one that's full sized as well. Unfortunately, in Canada we can't carry concealed, so the weight of the CZ isn't an issue...and that very weight is one of the things that make it easier to shoot well.
