I really don't want to start a huge fight, But between the two pistols which one would you fella's say is the best. I do own a glock 17 and I'm really thinking of a Sig in 9mm (226)
Thanks (Oversea's)

Haha, both are great, I like Glock, but it comes down to what you like better, the Glock concept or the Sig, both are equally capable. I have a suspicion most here will side with Sig.

So do you like polymer frames and striker fired, or DA and metal? Pretty much the whole debate there. :)

the grip sizes and angles are different. Why don't you shoot both and see which one is better for you.
Both are top shelf equipment, the missing factor is you.

I currently own a Glock 17 and have had owned a SigP226 in the past. lets just say I sold the Sig. But thats my preference...there both great firearms, sig a little more expensive, and many say better built, better gun.....but i love Glocks

I own the G17 & G21. Glocks are easy to maintain, clean, and are very accurate....as so are Sigs. Bottom line.......whatever floats your boat.

good luck

Johan you are so right.
Stick with your Glock. Please.

Tim say's buy a makarov, $10.00 Canadian Tire money in Khandahar.:D

There are great pistols and there are crap pistols. Those are both easy to tell apart.

For everything in the middle the guns are basicly equal and the shooter is the deciding factor.

IMO Glock 17 and Sig 226 is some of the best in the market today. It is your fault not to own them both:D . Keep the G17 and go buy the Sig. And don't forget to buy a Baretta 92F, a CZ 75B, S&W 686, Browning HP later if you have more green. And of course you will need a good 1911 as well.

'Course he shoulda started with a 1911... :p

Well I love my Glocks (my G19 with Barsto barrel is my 'go to' gun), but I have just picked up two Sig 226's, both stainless, in 9MM and 40 S&W.
Man, they are sweet! What a mitt full o' gun!. Accurate andlow recoil because of the mass.
Both are absolute keepers...as are my P7M13, Kimber Tactical ProII, CZ85B,
Springfield TRP Operator, etc, etc, etc!
Keep the Glock, get a Sig, and get one of everything else while you're at it!

As said you need to try both, I refer the grip on the Sig and the fact you can easily change the grip type. One thing I do like about the Glock is the number of indicater holes drilled into the back of the mags.

I have owned both and I still have the Glocks, G17 and G21. The Sig is a quality handgun, reliable and very accurate but I prefer the lower bore axis of the Glocks. Try before you buy.....if at all possible.

... and don't forget the SA XD. Love mine!

You'll hear story after story about each one - both are reliable as hell, but as other people have said, try and get your mitts on both and put some rounds through them. The range doesn't lie.

ps. I ended up with an HK
