Sig X-5 old models vs new models?

I am considering purchasing a new X-5 Sig, but I am having troubles figuring out which model.
I would like a 9mm, full stainless, and a single action only trigger. I believe I would like the fully adjustable
trigger as well. My preference is a non-railed version, but I guess I could overlook the rail, even though I would never use it. Is, the "old" X-5 Competition model with wood grips the same as the "new" "classic" model, except with a rail?
I would appreciate if any of my more knowledgeable CGN'ers could help me? :)

The X5 competition is found on the US site here

http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductDetails/p226-x-five-competition.aspx

and the classic is found here with your adjustable trigger but it has a rail

right

the former is made in the US?

and latter in Germany no?
oops both are German made

I'm really interested myself in the new allround because it accepts standard p226 mags not special x5 mags and I like a da/sa trigger. That's just me hehe.

Good luck

3 old models
x5 - top (wood grip, adjustable trigger, SAO) $2.6K or more
x5 competition - mid (plastic grip, SAO) around $2K
x5 allround - bottom (plastic grip, DA/SA) around $1.8K

the straight up old x-5 (with the wood grips and adjustable trigger) is equivalent to the new classic with rail.

i prefer the old models with no rail but wouldn't kick the new models out of bed.

i have the allround and love it. cabelas has a great deal on the old x-5 competition in 9mm (and a new and old X-5, with adjustable trigger and wood grips, in 40)

Thank you for your help...do you know if the old models were of higher quality, match barrels, tighter tolerances etc? My understanding is that
both old and new models are built in Germany?

Yes I believe they are both German made.
Haven't heard any reports of the new versions being any different in quality.

Cabelas' is a .40 not 9mm
