Hello all,

I'm having difficulty finding Sig X5 226 magazines with the thick jet funnel base pads. Does anyone out there know where I can source these in Canada?

I am ideally looking for black for the X5 special ops version but I can always paint the silver ones that come with the classic and other special editions.

Thanks!

CSC has custom aftermarket which I believe are made locally. They are well made, add no rounds, so in turn no issues with capacity . They're aluminum / silver colour so you would need to paint them if you prefer black.

There are also some custom options stateside such as TRT tactical. Have never dealt with them but have seen mixed reviews. The negative being that it takes them forever to ship.

Don't know about Canada but TRT Tactical in the US is where I got basepads to add to Canadian sourced regular 226 mags. They also show X5 10 round mags at $79 USD

okay, that isn't bad price wise, thanks.

Keep your order under $100CDN (before shipping) and there's a very good chance you won't pay CanadaPost handling fees and duty/taxes. I ordered basepads for my TSO from them. Turn around is approx 8 business days.

Be careful about 226 base pads, they may not fit the x-5 funnel. I know this for sure as I have used different ones. You may have to grind them down to fit the x-5, depending on where you get them from.
A less costly option are the plastic or rubber base bolt on pads, they are about $3 each - most 9mm double stack base plate add-ons will work (cz, hk...) -
The standard 226 mags will work well in the x-5 with these pads but you have to drill a couple of holes in the standard 226 mag base plate (use wood screws that go into the plastic.) The pads should have the center hole for mag disassembly.
226 mags are easy to find, the Italian non OEM ones are better than the new sig ones.

okay thx for this good info IIIIII

MD Charlton carries those basepads. Anyone who sells SIG in Canada should be able to get them.

I thought md charlton only sells to dealers or police departments? I wasn't aware they sell directly to the public.

From my past experiences. Companies that don't post prices on there website aren't interested in selling to public. You have to buy from one of the dealers they deal with. They wont even say how much pistol grips cost. Lol

Which is why I said: "Anyone who sells SIG in Canada should be able to get them."
