The smooth wooden grips on my X5 look good, but they're as functional as tits on a bull. So, and maybe a bit of a stab in the dark here, but anywhere in Canada to pick up some SAO X5 grips that work and not just look purdy?

You could try a WTB ad. I did see some factory black polymer X-Five grips not too long ago. Heck maybe someone would trade you as those Mastershop wood grip for the Canadian are beautiful.

If you want original, checkered, wood grips for the X5, easiest to just order direct from Nill in Germany. They still sell them. Not cheap but they are fantastic. I've order direct from Nill several time without issue. http://int.nill-shop.com/Replacemen...er-P226-X-five-Rhomlas-incl.-fastening-screws

MacTec in the US also stock Nill grips and now ships to Canada, but if they are not in stock and need to be special ordered, might as well go direct to Nill in Germany.

Remember it is for the old frame, not new version.

Awesome, thanks! Re old/new frame; I assume mine is the old style ie no rails? P.S. yea won't be selling or trading those stock "pretty" wood grips, they're keepers too for display :)

Yes good call. I'd be keeping those beautiful originals too. Yes the Canadian in the 1st gen style.
