Well,
After getting my ass handed to me in the past couple of precision rifle matches, I did some test firing, and my old stand-by Remington 700 just ain't cutting the mustard anymore.
Group size is now in excess of 1.2 MOA at 300m.
It used to shoot around .45 MOA.
So, I've started the process of re-barreling.
Not bad, seeing as the factory barrel has lasted me 10 years now, and probably between 6 and 8 thousand rounds fired.
Step was was the decision to finally do it.
Step two was getting the barrel. (Picked up a nice Rock barrel for it today....$ouch$)
Step 3 will be taking it to the recommended smith (already selected) for the work.
Step 4 will be a new stock, as the new barrel will NOT fit the old stock anymore.
Step 5 will be new handloads....starting from scratch again!
Step 6 will be kicking ass next season!
