Sight alignment on Glock

I have a plastic vise with a clamp on base that I take to the range whenever I need to adjust iron sights. With a brass hammer and brass punches it's easy peasy.

I dunno what the poundage is with the Dot connector, I remember a discussion on pistol-forum.com about it and a number of guys who definitely weren't LEO were talking about how they were showing up in new guns. As well I've seen them up here. My Gen III doesn't have one though.

Oh and yeah that sight is way the #### off. Whoever installed that owes you some money for not doing their job properly

My Gen4 G17 has the dot connector, I never noticed it until I read this thread as I already replaced it with a aftermarket, IIRC it was at 5.5lbs average on my Lyman trigger scale so I don't think there's anything special about it

This article states that the dot connector is some special "LEO ATF Connector"

Hmm, i'll try swapping it into my g26 and see if it changes anything.

Well it's done. I'm gonna go out to the range in a few days and report back. This is my first handgun that I have done serious handgun shooting with. I posted a thread almost six months back on if I was any good (with pics), I'll post pics on how I've been since.



I remember Slavex telling me to start at 5 yards, then 7, 10, 15, and I was pissed because I thought it was a waste. Best advice I ever got.

In among the duffers and kids in the basement here (personally I'm a duffer in the basement), there are some of the best shooters in the country - once you figure out who they are (and who they aren't), this becomes an absolutely amazing source of information.

It's funny I spend the vast majority of my time shooting between 10 and 7yds these days. I like to be able to look at my target when I'm done and see the hits, instead of walking all the way down range to see it. I still shoot a fair bit at distance, but I can simulate it pretty well with really small targets at 7yds too.

At first, the new part was only installed in the ATF contract guns, but Glock decided to make the Connector 5 stock for all models of Gen4 pistols shipped after May, 2011. All Gen3 pistols will continue to ship with the unmarked 5.5-pound connector.
