The mounting base with the hole and bevel look like a Mauser bolt stop. Is there any provision for the ejector on the inside of the base?

Not for a Mauser. I'll dig out my M-S carbine and see if it might fit one of these. Mine is fitted with a Lyman 36 wig-wag sight.

I had a Lyman 36 and foolishly sold it . I also had a Lyman , I forget the model number , that went on a Husky model 46 . It also replaced the bolt stop assembly and had a fold down , smaller aperture peep sight for shooting in good light . When folded , the larger aperture acted like a ghost ring , just the thing for a 9.3X57 .
I'm pretty sure the OP's sight is for one of the older split bridge designs , very cool . If it were mine , I'd buy a rifle just to mount it on , but then , I'm a sick man lol .

One of the sights in my hoard is a cocking piece sight, to mount on a '98. I have a 1920's original Mauser sporting rifle. One of these days, I'll get a spare cocking piece, anneal, drill and tap it, and install it on the rifle.

I've always wanted to get my hands on one of those . I've seen a few over the years , but they're usually mounted on rifles that cost the same as a decent vehicle .
I remember an article that Ross Seyfried wrote in Rifle years back about these sights . I believe it was a Rigby , the trigger sear and the cocking piece had a corresponding , shallow V notch cut in them so that you would get a consistent point of sight . A simple idea , and a bit tricky to machine , but apparently it worked real well

One more picture of sight at pivot.

Does the aperture plate pivot on the vertical adjustment stem ? As in , would the bolt handle push it out of the way while cycling the action ? The MS sights I've seen over the years would all do this , some were spring loaded and would return to the shooting position . They also pivoted fore and aft on the horizontal plane , to clear the bolt handle in both directions . They also made one for Mosin Nagants at one time , I haven't seen one of those for over 30 years though .

Looks like it would sit on top the the existing '98 ejector housing, not replace it.
Has the cut outs for the tabs.
