Im looking to upgrade the sights on winchester 94 trails end in .45colt. I would like something that can be adjusted from say 50, 100, to maby 200 or ferther yards.

Thanks for the advice in advance!

I put a Williams Fool Proof on my '94 30-30,but for me a 200yd shot  is indeed a long one for me,I'll keep her zeroed for 100 and just move closer to the target

Huntsman :)

200 yards is along ways for a 45 colt. I presume you have a special load in mind? Hopefully you don't intend to use it on game at that range.
The Williams foolproof is a great sight, but for changing distances like that, you might be better off with a sight that has target knobs, like some of the old Redfields, or (I can't believe I'm saying this) a scope.
Experimentation at the range will likely show you where you have to hold at 200. If you can manage it without a big holdover at 200 with the Colt, the Williams will work fine too.

A reciever sight is a great upgrade from the barrel sights, but shooting @ 200yds with ANY open sight on a 94 is hit & miss.

I have a Lyman reciever sight on mine and is sighted for 100yds

If, and I stretch the word if you can be kind to any mammal over 50,or consistantly accurate over a 100 with tha...........Ah ,I'm not even gonna finnish.

I assume because of the ranges your asking about with this cartridge you intend too use it for "Target work" ?
If that's the case I'd go with a Marbles Tang sight, it has fully adjustable elevation and windage knobs, you can change the front sight height to get more range out of it, and they look alot Nicer then the Williams Foolproof types, just more authentic looking
I had a 45 Colt Marlin Cowboy model that I used as a main match rifle as well as for some long range levergun side matches etc. I had a Marbles on her and with the right front sight had no probs knocking steel over at 200 meters once you knew your adjustments, you could do it all day.
Have fun 8)
