I am waiting for the delivery of my new .22LR. I bought it for backyard plinking and chipmunk eradication. My longest shot might be 70 yds max most common being 20-50yds. What distance do you think I should sight in at? I will be using Remington subsonics.

You will have to experiment, of course...

but I would suggest 50 yards as a zero.

For subsonics, the holdover for 70 yards won't be that great (1.8"), and you will be about .1" high at 20 yards.

A 60 yard zero will put you .3" high at 20, and 1 inch low (1" holdover) at 70.

These are based on one of the calcs I use.
The remy subsonics group very well out of my 60.

I was thinking 50 yds as well. Thanks for the advice. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my new .22 and am looking forward to putting lots of rounds through it;).
