Sighting in a Winchester 30-30?

OK gang,

Got a problem...Trying to sight in the 30-30 today, and at 50 yds I am shooting right. I am on paper, but off the target.

The rear iron is for elevation only (as far as I can tell) and is shooting level enough.

So, besides aiming left, how do I get the bullets to go where I want...ie centre?

Do I have to drift the front site? If so, which way?

Like said adjusting either sight will work to move the point of impact horizontally. What I do in this situation is have a good look at the front sight. Is it centred in the dove tail and right in the middle of the barrel? If so do the adjustment with the rear sight. I've seen iron sights drifted to crazy extremes after being fiddled with several times. You want the front sight centred, fine tune with the rear.
 
Best way I've found to do this without the proper tool is lay the gun on its right side (in your case) with the muzzle of the barrel supported with a block of wood. Then tap downward with a small hammer using a brass punch. A spent rifle cartridge works in a pinch too using the primer end to contact the sight and hammering on the open end. Yes it ruins the case in short order. lol
 
Unless your rear sight is a tang-mounted peep, it should be in a dovetail, and you should be able to drift it left. If possible, it's always best to drift sights to the left only, because the dovetails are tapered with the left end being the narrower one. Drift a sight to the right and you risk loosening it.
