Purchased a inexpensive scope for the .22 Cooey. We went and tried to sight it in at the pistol range. It keeps shooting to the bottom right of the bulls eye. No matter the adjustment it doesn't seem to want to go up 1.2". The scope I'm not sure but could it be over powered for the distance we are shooting (20 meters) It still groups well.

This might sound a little silly, but it worked for me on a rifle that did that. I tried everything, but nothing seemed to work. Finally, with nothing left to try, I took the scope off, removed the mount & turned it around 180 degrees, then reinstalled it & the scope. Then I centered the windage & elevation adjustments on the scope, and tried it again. Went almost perfectly to point of aim on the first shot, with the adjustments centered. Only took a couple of clicks to get it spot on.

I can only surmise that the mount grooves may have been off minutely, as was the mount. One way around, it added up to a lot of error, beyond what the scope's adjustments could accommodate. The other way around, it all worked perfectly.

I also had that happen on a two-piece mount set (two separate rings). Took 'em off, turned them both around (front-to-back, too) and the problem was cured. They were brand new, fresh out of the package.

Give it a try - only takes a minute, and costs...nothing, which suits my Scottish heritage perfectly!

Why would you put optics on that beautiful old gun?????? I've had mine since 1956, and although I did fire about 10 rounds out of it after I refurbished it recently, I made darn sure any parts I found for it were originals, coz it's really gun-art, not for shooting! :)

I can't think of a gun more meant for shooting than my cooey 75. I'm goingto refinish mine soon, then shoot the heck out of it until it needs finished again.

Fathers gun I should say, he has two one is in pretty rough shape and decided to throw a scope on it haha. We are going to do some measurements and see if something is not correct with the mounting of the scope. Also I'll turn it 180*s

Why put a scope on ?.....well for me, its cause I'm not a young wipersnapper any more and my eye sight aint what it use to be LOL. I never had a use for scopes 30 years ago either.

I NEED to scope my 60 because my eyes have gone drastically downhill of late . I'm going to find a vintage scope though so it looks good . That 60 is a beauty and accurate as hell out to 50 , and I want to shoot farther but my eyes just suck so bad , so a scope it must have .
