Sighting in my XCR-L today

I wouldn't hesitate to take a 300 yard shot on a deer and 400 + yards on a coyote with my XCR-L in 6.8SPC with my 95gr TTSX @ 2880fps loads.

What does that tell me and should tell others = my XCR-L has the accuracy to reliably/accurately kill my targets at those distances.

Making it perfect for my needs.

I'll be honest I do have a gripe about my XCR-L it doesn't come in a .452" or .458" cartridge.

Well if you want to spend the money, you could have a gunsmith enlarge the ejection port, get a 7.62x39 bolt, and have a custom 50 beowulf barrel made, you could have the XCR shooting .50 slugs! Something to thing about when you win the lottery!

Here is a pic of 3 shots I took at 347 yards across a valley with my 6.8SPC 95gr TTSX loads shooting off the back of my quad not just priceless done it repeatedly.

You guys are hilarious every time you spew tells me you can't shoot so you blame the gun.

Two hit the rock appr 1" apart the other barely missed the rock right beside my thumb I did not hold for windage.

Here is a pic of the shot distance the rock was appr 20' - 30' left of the top of the log on th bank center of pic.

No,it's because some of us hunters started out sniping songbirds and red squirrels with a Daisy when we were 8yo......a few decades later with a few thousand small game/game bird kills and 100+ big game kills under our belts,we're just full of confidence as opposed to FoS.

Hunters are awesome, just ask them.

You've enlightened us with your presence in this thread...thanks for that.
You've repeatedly informed us the XCR-L is not up to your accuracy standards...duly noted.
Your avatar picture and your profile description suggests you are someone important who participates in competitive shooting matches...zero f@cks given as
myself and many others have no desire or inclination to shoot competitively, we own an XCR-L for what it is... a non restricted "black rifle" that we can actually shoot on crown land.
I'm on my second XCR now same accuracy as the first one 2-3 MOA consistently.
Hundreds of rounds between the two, wore out a bolt catch in the first one otherwise zero problems.

I'm sure in the real world you're probably a stand up guy that does a lot for the shooting community, but in this particular thread the more you post the more you come across as a blatant and blind hater of all things XCR.

Maybe time to head to the IPSC or action shooting forum to spread the gospel and receive high fives and a circle jerk and leave us lowly hunters and plebs to our inferior XCR's.

First I don't hate XCRs, I think they are one of the better NR rifles currently available. I take issue with flag waving based on three round (or any minus a flier) groups from any platform.
Trying to shoot a couple small three round groups to make one feel good about their rifles capabilities is counter productive. It frustrates shooters and gives rise to excuses for pulled shots and fliers that are in reality just the rifle grouping to its capacity (these "unexplained" oddities typically undermine shooters confidence as they blame themselves or believe there is a problem with their gear). I have found that actually proving that one has a "blank" moa rifle makes it easier to squeeze the full "blank" moa out of said rifle. The shooter who thinks his gear is better than it is can't accept target results and will usually, frustratingly, chase POI.

No hate to the XCR.

Gonna go out on a limb here and say that I think what matters most to hunters is first shot/cold barrel accuracy, and MOA accuracy on subsequent shots is generally irrelevant. It really doesn't matter that much to me if I can hit a loonie 5x in 5 seconds if I can hit a quarter with the first shot.If I could hit a tennis ball with the next 4 in semi-auto I'd be giving lessons.

Here is my finding

A day out with my XCR

A day out with my Tavor

A day out with my accurate bolt gun.

Sorry to get off topic...just saw a dead coyote get posted and thought Id share.

Cheers!!
Wow,your "accurate rifle" sure likes the gut,spine,and hind 1/4 a$$ shots,lol......jest sayn. ;)
Thx for sharing the coyote carnage though.....sincerely,thas a good day!! :D

I don't really remember that day 100% but I dont normally gut shoot coyotes, thats probably blood from being stacked on each other in the truck. I sell all my coyotes...when I gut shoot them I leave them in the field.

Unlike the overwhelming majority of shooters here on CGN...Im not perfect, if a gut shot happens...it happens and I adjust and learn from it. Some people talk like they shoot the hair off a fleas ass at 500 yards. ;)

Cheers!!

^^^^correct. Just me, but I've never had a paper bullseye target at 250 meters go from 15 mph to 40 mph from the first shot to the 4th shot

I might would 8 ring it also if it did however............

I can see someone using those pictures in several ways but the immediate one would be used by those against changing the ar15 to non-restricted ie the NFA petition.

Or those wanting to restrict all semis wanting to get all the animal lovers on their side.
