Anybody have any experience with Sightrons "Hunter Holdover Reticle"? I'm torn between it and a regular duplex. I do like the idea of the dot in the middle but just not sure how it will be in real life hunting. Any feedback would be swell!

It is not better or worst as it depends on your tastes. Personally, I really like it. Gives an easy to pick up center with a bold aiming point.

I also have a similar dot center in all my target rifles (LRMOA reticle). Work great.

The hash marks work like the generic BDC reticle

So ... I ended up going with an SII 3-12 big sky with the HHR reticle. Thought I'd post a pic of the reticle in case it helps some one else out in making a decision. I've had the scope for a month or 2 now and I'm really happy with it. The one thing I have found is that I prefer using 1" squares as aiming points for my 100yd shooting as opposed to circles. This is at a range of about 170yds with the scope on 10X. Corn stalks for perspective,

It's really only seen winter range use thus far. I did have it out with my VX3 2.5-8 looking at bush lines at dusk, and they were both fairly similar in terms of being able to pick-up an aiming point. I'd give a slight edge to the VX 3 in that regard.
