I'm looking to buy a used sightron 8-32-56 that will be mainly on a target bench gun. I don't compete, only play at our range.. My question is do any owners of this scope with the mildot system find the dots are too big? I'm asking this as there are 2 used mildot versions for sale. I really wanted the lrmoa but would it be worth holding out for it or grab a mildot version while i can? I'm not big into mildots but if they were small enuf i could live with them. Now after all that does anyone have a picture thru your scope at high mag on a small target to show what the mils are going to look like thru a sightron? Thanks.

I almost bought Sightron mil-dot because I like mrad. I was told that the mildot line is too thick for F-class target. Instead, I bought LRMOA scope. The dot is very tiny and it is perfect.

Mildot is not designed for benchrest guns, it is designed for a cruder, but still very effective method of ranging and shooting targets at known or unknown ranges.

It is very effective for shooters in the bush shooting various distances and off bipod.

For benchrest, I would suggest LRMOA or gen2 mildot style reticles if that is the route you are looking at taking.

I compared the LRMOA and LRTD-TDT(1/8 clicks target dot). I really liked both but since I only do target shooting I went with the target dot one.
But definitely did like the LRMOA reticle with the floating dot and open turrets.
Didn't check the mil-dot reticle to compare, the bush 1040 I got is mildot and I don't overly care for that type.
