Sightron Quality

Leupold has nothing on Sightron glass and build quality, the same can be said for Nightforce scopes IMHO. For the price I don't see anything that can even come close to Sightron. Their Big Sky and SIII series of scopes have very similar glass (if not the same) and represent the very best in quality Japanese glass. Trackability and overall features are top notch. All I can say is buy one and see for yourself, you wont be disappointed. I've owned 4 Sightrons and just bought a couple more to give a try....I've had One SIII and 3 Big Sky's, all have surpassed my expectations. Given the quality and price range, I'll never touch another Nightforce or Leupold again (that would just represent stupidity on my part). Of course this represents my own personal opinion based on my experiences....Any how, I noticed somebody wanted some pics of the MD reticle on the SIII's, so I posted some pics at 6X 12X and 24X....The pics suck and by no means represent the clarity of the glass in real life, but it was the best I could do with my crappy camera:

I see they use 'army' round mils.

easier to estimate the mils to the 1/10th than the Marine oval dots.. for me at least

I have a SIII 8-32x56 on order and I'm really looking forward to it, thanks for the pics

any new updates on those Jerry?

OK OK......... Ive seen problems with two sightron big sky's I know one was a 6.5 20x50 for sure and I'm not sure what the other one was but they both failed a box test (we called it a fail) on the same day........ The glass was great really good the failure came when we did an extensive box test. Here is what happened, when we dialed up the moa's a little at a time at 200yrds and shot 4 round groups at each setting the groups were repeatable however we set up a a perfect vertical line with a plum bob and found the groups veered of to the right or left slightly this could be overcome if you kept track of your settings because they were repeatable, but the nightforce end the Leupold shot exactly on the vertical line with repeatability.
