Hi all, I am considering buy a Sightron SIII 8-32 X 56 LRMOA scope . I was looking for some input as of the quality and reliabily of these scopes. Also any warrany issues. I know there are better scopes out there but I am on a budget of around $1000.00. I was also considering the Vortex pst but after reading about all the problems people have been having with them I have decided to drop them from my list. Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks

Had my Sightron on 3 differents rifles for groups, it belong to my Icon 6.5 Creedmoor, all i can say, it been flawless and it is crystal clear, very satisfied... JP.

At 1000 bucks there are several scopes available that are far better than a sightron or a vortex. Those are the scopes you buy when you only have 3-400 bucks to spend.

yes dewberry please name some . Some how I think I already know Ziess conquest will be brought up. I already have a conquest 6.5-20 X 50 with the rapid Z 1000 reticle and I don't like it because the reticle is way to big for long range shooting. I thought of getting a Ziess 6.5-20 X 50 with the varmit reticle but want to check out other options that is why I asked about Sightron. I already know that Vortex has way to many warrantie claims for me to be interested in there product. Luepold is another option in the VX3 line I already have a few Leupolds and they have proven to be great scopes but would like to try something different. I would love a S+B but they are way over my price range.

I have a Sightron SllB 6-24X42 SIL and two Slll 8-32X56. One 8-32 was purchased new, the other used off the EE. The new 8-32 and the 6-24 have been flawless. The used one had a reticle that was skewed a couple of degrees off plumb from the rest of the scope. I sent it back to Sightron through the Canadian distributor (Hirsch Precision). Sightron determined that the scope had been tampered with as there was a part missing from the internals and there was foreign adhesive in the internals. The scope was still replaced by Sightron, my only cost being the shipping, which would have been waived had the scope not been tampered with. I have no complaints with Sightron quality and nothing but praise for their warranty and their Canadian Distributor.

Go to matches and you'll see Sightron in the winners circle. 19 of 20 reviews state Sightron as " best scope for the dollar". We can sell any product we like, but sell Nightforce an Sightron, as we deal with serious competitors and longrange shooters and these products suit. I'll refrain from commenting on the naysayer, as most reading these posts are intelligent enough to form their own opinions.

Peter

The Sightron SIII's came highly recommended from several well respected long range precision shooters I know and respect. So far...they were exactly right. Best long range precision scopes for the money. At one time that honor belonged to Leupold; granted that was a long time ago.

No good stuff

First you tell us that a m98 action is no good :onCrack: now you tell use sightron and vortex are poor choices of scopes
Bet ya - not many willl agree with ya ! LOL :stirthepot2:

Have two S3-8x32 and a SIIB 6x24, nice clear scopes, great price. Never had a problem so can't comment on warranty/service.

Also have a couple SIII's and wouldn't think twice about getting another one. They track awesome and the glass is as good as it gets until you get into the $2500 plus range.

Heads up of their warranty proccess,I checked it out before purchase. All OK. When failure occurred and after 6 emails of the lens problem as requested, they cut me off and would not accept scope return for their inspection from Australia. Absolutely nothing to do with them in the future.

Xcalibre, doesn't the Australian distributor look after issues for you? Please provide your name and we'll check into this on your behalf.

I have Nightforce, Schmidt and Bender PMII and Sightron as well as others. The Sightron is better optically than a NF NSX and is on par optically with the NF BR models. The Sightron is definitely a "BEST BUY" imo. I also find you can get them parallax free more quickly than the others.

I can't say enough about my Sightron. I have the 6-24x50 and I absolutely love it!!! First off, the clarity of the glass is exceptional ... I can see .223 bullet holes at 300 meters on white paper. Second, and most importantly, the tracking is perfect. I laugh every time I sight it in. Fire one shot, hold the rifle steady, use the elevation and windage to move the cross hairs over the bullet hole and voila! Next shot will be bang on.
