Anybody know more about these and when they hit the store shelves?

Also, magnifications and total adjustment is what I'm after. I see a UK video saying one will be 2.5x-17x. Disappointing range of adjustment of 60 or 80 though..

Thinking about adding a rig to the stable and wondering if I should wait. I'm also refraining from buying a new rail so I'd like to see 100+MOA adjustment. I know their LRIRMOA has 100, which has me steering in that direction if I go Sightron. The new S-TAC controls look nice though (prefer white over gold, and the zoom ring looks a lot better)

Stuff gets shown off at these shows. Not everything makes it to production.

See SHOT show in Jan for new options that may or may not make production.

The "tac" series hasn't hit production afaik. Likely there was an uproar from one of their larger competitors on using "proprietory" styling.

if you want to shoot far, the SIII6-24X50 is likely the largest elevation scope Sightron is going to produce.

There is now a slot for the S tac on the sightron website, says coming soon. I hopes its pretty soon. I'm going to be looking for some new glass sometime in the not so distant future. I really want a sightron but none of their current offerings currently do exactly what I want.

That's how I was first notified of it. Coming soon means... how soon? In that UK video they said they hope to release July/Aug...

I like the 6-24 LRIRMOA, but I think some issues I have with Sightron may be addressed. Problem is it might only be 2.5-17, which I'd much sooner have 24. I don't need 32x. I have no real use for low power either. My shooting is all 100-1400yards.

Oh yea, this was also very recent. As in the last few days they have added this to their webpage.
 
If you are putting on a flat top with a pic rail forend, the bell will likely hit unless you put on very tall rings.

See video and side view on the demo stock. The scope base is much higher then the bell of the scope.

Again, the SIII6-24X50 is likely the best overall set up for LR tactical applications.

2.5 to 17 would be pretty much perfect for me. I noticed that the scope in the video clicks in MOA which sucks, even more so if its only available in Mil Dot reticle. I'm sure they have addressed that though, they offer scopes that click in Mrad.
Hopefully they come out soon, and hopefully offer a FFP model
 
It's mentioned on Sightron's facebook page (Aug 1). 2.5-17.5 x 56 is quite big, but interesting. I'm sure the SIII is a great scope (all reviews have been great), but x6 at the low end is higher than I'd like to go for the shooting I do.
 
Well congrats Sightron on releasing the S TAC, and IMO totally crapping the bed on it. SFP only. Upon emailing them I got a response that said we have no intentions of releasing a FFP version any time soon.
I had been waiting for these scopes to get released, now I'll be looking at something else.

I agree, this scope line is a complete blunder. It's also manufactured in the Philippines......not Japan. The design also shows poor taste, not very original. I'll be ditching sightron and sticking with Bushnell elite tactical for my low end glass in the future.
 
On brighter news, Vortex released new Razor's with very favourable zoom levels, 56mm bell housings, etc. Priced again to be the best bang for the buck in high end optics.

Wished I held off a bit, but then again our CDN prices will probably be shockingly expensive. I think they are $2400USD for the 4.5-27x56mm.
 
I would personally be all over one if they were FFP or if they offered something in the 3-12 or 4-14 ish power range. 10x isn't enough and 6x is too high on the bottom.
 
Send in your requests to Sightron USA. They have responded to target shooters request. No reason they will not listen to tactical/service rifle end users.

Just keep offering them good design packages - what YOU want. The more requests, the better the chance it will go into production.

Industry leading zero stop, quality turrets, extremely good tracking, FFP, glass better than NXS, extremely rugged build, best warranty / damage replacement, Japanese built, great reticles etc.

Just because this forum has a hate for Vortex, doesn't mean they don't make a very competent package for the price. It slaps around the NXS for the same price.

Looking at other forums (with users who actually own the glass they talk about) and it's often compared with much higher end units, boiling down to a bargain for the price. Often those who own one buy multiple, etc.


So I ask, what's wrong with the Razor? Why is the NF or others in it's price range better? We aren't comparing S&B and USO. If we're talking twice the price then yea, but for the 2000-2300$ price range (new ones are 2400-2500 I think), there isn't much competition. $300 more will get you the ATACR, but you lose FFP if that's what people want.

If that's the case,. There must have been a substantial demand for a tacti-cool fhilippino made-sfp scope with a 56mm obj and nightforce styling. Vortex already has this market .
