I have 2 NF's and have looked through several Sightrons. Without a doubt my next one is a Sightron. I agree 110% with Peter....similar optical quality as the NF. Everyone I've talked with has had no issues with internals, tracking, holding zero, or repetability. Expect a call from me Peter in a couple of days. I'm looking for a 6-24x50 LRMOA....
You really don't like it when someone disagrees with you, now do you? LOL! My first Sightron was likely one of the first in Canada and I've had several since. They are a solid mid range scope, but nothing more. If that is all you have to spend then there are a great bang for the penny pincher's buck. If you are looking for once in a lifetime purchase quality then you are going to spend more - elsewhere.

I have two Slll 6-32X56s and an SllB 6-24X42 SIL. Talked a buddy into Sightron and he picked up an Slll 3.5-10X44 LR MD. No complaints at all with optics or tracking. As stated above, good bang for the buck.
So I guess if you spend less tha 2K on a scope then you must be a penny pinching ,no cash, looser bum. At least that is the way it comes accross to me . OMG how arrogant does someone have to be to say something like that?
No, not really as I don't own Sightron. It is your attitude in general ( eveything you own is the best everything else is ####) It's not only in this thread, I get the same impression from most of your posts that I have read. You know they do say that people who always have to have the biggest and best are ussually compensating for something else LOL
Well, NF also has illuminated reticles across the board, many more reticle choices, zero stop, high speed turrets as well as more choices in magnification. The last one being a big one for me as I was hoping Sightron would have come out with a 3-15 or 4-16 this year, but no dice.. so I have another NF coming.
Well thanks guys for all the opinions and views and hands on feed back on thecSightron stuff, amd also how it compares to the NF scopes. I would still love to get a new NF but now I just don't feel like I need it and the Sightron is going to be just as good a scope for my application at half the price.
Yes, we sell and use both. We are putting Sightron on our rifles as they do the job and cost less. Regarding used value, we do not expect a difference in depreciation from a pecentage perspective.
We have had many experienced shooters across Canada advise that the optics are comparable or better than NF. Many say superior.

I doubt you own both, if you did you would be far more knowledgeable on sightron's optical quality. Were you an expert I highly doubt you'd be using NF when there are better optics available.
A night force will not out perform a sightron on a range. Quality of a sightron is superior as the warranty is superior and if you have any issues you will have it repaired much quicker than You will a NF so in the end, sightron will give you less down time than a NF. Sure a nf is more rugged but do you need that?
Both are great scopes and you will not regret buying either.
If one person tells you that you're wrong, you may ignore it.
If two people tell you the same, think about it.
If three people say that you're wrong, you're wrong for sure and you should re-think your opinion.

You have Sightrons, NFs, S&Bs and I guess some more top end scopes on your numerous target and hunting rigs. You know, bulls***ting is where you really shine.

I've never in my whole life lived in a herd. I don't need the rest of the sheeple to tell me what I should think, say or do. If you are comfortable in the herd waiting for your next instruction good on you. I'm constantly looking at new products in every facet of my life and you quickly learn that " at half the price" costs somewhere in the product. To truly believe otherwise is naive in my estimation. Lots claim to believe to defend a purchase and not look stupid to others.
Wasn't this a thread where the OP asked for opinions? Were we just supposed to nod our heads and agree? Perhaps we should have asked him what he wanted to be told and then agreed with that? Sure, that makes as much sense as your comments.
@dizzy, I've never said that NF was the best scope out there. The OP asked to compare to it and it is certainly the best in the two he named. I wouldn't put NF in the top 5 brands I use. I do own other brands who's quality and price tags would further shock and disgust you, but I am very qualified to decide for my dollar what constitutes a quality optic.
you must be using NCstar as the price and quality is both shocking and disgusting
for its intended purpose NF might well be number one in the world.
no need to pound your chest as it makes you look silly and unqualified to comment neither is there any need to berate Sightron III series scopes.
I still doubt all your claims, guys who own very high end gear don't need to brag about it, and are often bright enough to recognize quality gear when the see it, and use it, like Sightron scopes for example
