I have a Sightron SIII 1-7X24 LRIRMOA scope that was earmarked for NR 223 semi auto rifle. However, since I've found out that the modern varminter is coming out, this scope is just sitting around. I'm wondering if I can mount it on a 375 H&H or will the recoil be too much? I tried asking sightron directly but I haven't hear anything back.

Thanks,

Mik

Glad to read this. I just ordered a 6-24x50 and plan to mount it on a not so heavy .300WM. A bit nervous. However, I bought new and hear they have a good warranty. Hopefully I'll never have to use it.

The only question is whether I should get another SIII 1-7x24 with a 4A reticle and keep the MOA reticle for the modern varminter.

Jerry, I also heard back from Sightron and they also said that mounting the scope onthe 375 H&H is no problem. Their rep also mentioned that the SIII 1-7x24 is being replaced by the STAC version. What is the difference between the two? I read that the STAC is made in the Philippine's while the SIII is made in Japan. Also, do you know if the STAC will be coming out with 4A reticle?

Thanks,

Mik

Yup... Sightrons have been ontop of some big boomers with little issue.

Exposed turrets for the STAC.. That is about all the difference.

4A vs MOA - that is personal tastes.

I have seen no issues with STAC scopes... very well put together with similar top tier glass

I will be using an STAC 2.5-17.5 as my tactical/PRS scope.
