I just picked up a pair of these scopes. I want them to complement the Super Sniper 16x's I currently use. I figure having the same magnification on all my varminting scopes gives me the same view of the gophers through everything.
Anybody using the Sightron SIII fixed power scopes? How do you like them?
I just got these in the other day and have only managed to get them mounted. Haven't been to the range to try them yet.
Upon initial examination they seem like a solid scope with good glass and very positive click adjustments. I like the modified mil dot reticle, which adds half distance hash marks between the dots.
My only complaint would be the flip up caps the scopes come with. They are unmitigated CRAP! However I never expected to get flip up lens protectors anyway so in the end no harm, no foul.
Wholesale Sports didn't have the rings I normally use so I went with a set of Leupold QRW which seem to work pretty well and are very easy to mount. The QD system seems simple and robust enough. Guess I will have to try and see if they hold zero when the scope is removed and replaced.
