I just picked up a pair of these scopes. I want them to complement the Super Sniper 16x's I currently use. I figure having the same magnification on all my varminting scopes gives me the same view of the gophers through everything.

Anybody using the Sightron SIII fixed power scopes? How do you like them?

I just got these in the other day and have only managed to get them mounted. Haven't been to the range to try them yet.

Upon initial examination they seem like a solid scope with good glass and very positive click adjustments. I like the modified mil dot reticle, which adds half distance hash marks between the dots.

My only complaint would be the flip up caps the scopes come with. They are unmitigated CRAP! However I never expected to get flip up lens protectors anyway so in the end no harm, no foul.

Wholesale Sports didn't have the rings I normally use so I went with a set of Leupold QRW which seem to work pretty well and are very easy to mount. The QD system seems simple and robust enough. Guess I will have to try and see if they hold zero when the scope is removed and replaced.

Whats wrong with the flip up caps? I don't mind the ones that came with my SIII scopes. Does it come with a sun shade?

I think I'll try a 20 power fixed sooner or later.

Finally got to the range to tryout my new scopes. After shooting them I am quite impressed. I was shooting indoors and in the past have had trouble with some scopes in the problematic lighting conditions one encounters in an indoor range. The Sightron SIII's were easy to use, clear and bright. The clicks are distinct and clearly heard and felt making adjustment extremely easy.

Mounted to my Savage PC in 308 I shot some of the best groups ever with that rifle. I expect the scopes will perform very well outdoors at distance.

I've been thinking of getting one of these in 10x for when I do longer ranged stuff with my Swiss Arms. This might be the motivation I needed to convince me to save the money for it, lol.
