Sightron Sll verses Sightron Slll.

SIII has the coating on the lenses, they both track the same as the internals are pretty much the same, the SIII is slightly more clear on foggy or rainy days or in lots of sunlight but on the average day to day use under a covered shooting line they are one of the same

I think you may be thinking of the SIIB.. big difference

the SII use very old tech in their lenses. Some also have very silly markings on their turrets.

I do not recommend them when funds are available for the SIII or STAC.

SIII is the way to go if you want great optics and mechanicals with high mag.

STAC is more towards the hunting/varminting end user

I find quite a jump from SII to SII. Much closer comparison between SIIBS and SIII. Like Jerry said, I'd avoid SII if you can afford to move up a level or two. The SIIBS is one of the best values in it's class in my opinion/experience.

The S2BS has an unforgiving eyebox when compared to a vx3. it isn't a big deal on a target rifle. But for hunting, there is better value for the $$ elsewhere imo.
I have never used a S3.
