Hey guys,

Looking at a Sightron SII BL 20-60x85 HD-S for my first spotting scope.

Are these any good?
Is a straight eyepiece the way to go? What do you prefer?

My max shooting distance will be at 600m, 90% of my shooting is done at 200m. Range use only.

I won't be able to try before I buy so, I need a bit of help. I had the chance to look through a Bushnell Legend HD 20-60x85 and was not impressed.

I know there's better out there but my budget is limited to $1000-$1200.

Thanks in advance.

I do not own a sightron spotting scope. However I do own sightron binoculars. They are excellent at the price point. Much brighter than my old Nikon atb series binos. They compete very well with the leupold Mojave binos for about the same price. Hopefully this transitions equally well into their spotting scopes. I have a straight eye piece swarovski 80hd. I really wish it was an angled eye piece. It would be much more comfortable to look through in hunting situations. I think sightron will suit your needs well for that price. But do consider an angled eye piece over the straight.

This is one of the "sleeper" spotter on the market today. I have looked through a couple that came through for customers and was very impressed with resolution, clarity and ability to perform when looking at stuff well beyond 1 mile.

The variable actually works which is rare in this price point. Again Sightron is offering products that punch way above their price point.

Great product for a great price.

PM or email if I can help.

Thanks

Jerry

I am so tempted... you could send me one to review?

I had one and sold it. It was excellent for the price, but it wasn't much better than just using my 10-50x60 SVSS. I sold the spotter and bought the Caldwell LR Target Cam with that money. What a great decision that turned out to be. I did get the Sightron spotter out side by side with a Kowa and I easily noticed the difference in quality. If I buy a spotting scope again one day it'll most likely be a Kowa or one with a reticle.
