Anyone having any problems with the tactical turrets on their sightron III scopes? I see it has a single screw holding it on, no splines or other system to take up the turning force between the turret and the shaft. It just sits on the shaft. Instructions say "not to over tighten", but I've had mine come loose as the torque of turning the turret acts directly on the screw as it is not splined onto the shaft like a Bushnell. Thoughts and suggestions?

Would like to know if this has been changed recently or is this really not a cause of concern? I'm not rough on scopes but I do expect them to hold together without constant attention.

I haven't had a problem since that initial loosening. It was cold weather and the scope was new. I haven't changed zero since that time either. The scope has seen half a dozen times at the range so far. I'm very pleased with the optics on my 10-50 with LRMOA reticle. I doubt the design has changed, as it was a brand new scope at that time when I bought it in April.

So how much twisting on the turret are you doing? For me this will be a constant dial up dial down scope. If this is going to work loose and allow the dial to move freely from the reticle and cause a missed shot, I may have to consider a different scope.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks Jerry! I know you like to use the Sightron scopes and run them through their paces. Do you use a drop of blue loctite or anything on the screw?

I also happen to have a sightron III 8-32x56 LRMOA which I purchased from Mystic precision about six months ago. The first time I shot it, the knob became loose. I didn't over tighten it as it said so on the manual. However, after emailing Jerry at Mystic, he advised me not to worry about the tightening it a bit more than what the manual says. Since then, I haven't had any issues. For the money I spent on the scope, it's the best thing I have had so far to the point that, I am considering getting another identical one for my other toy.
