Hey, recently purchased a brand new 10/22TD, and just got to use it for the first time this easter sunday.
First thing I noticed, the factory sights suck. I shoot lots of pistol and was also accurate with my 20''AR iron sights, but these sights are just horrible.
The rear sight is a flip up with a white diamond, and front is a gold bead.

I was wondering what would be decent sight replacement?
I have been looking a techsight and does remind me an AR sight post and rear peep.
They also mount on the rail which leaves me the option of messing around with a red dot. I had not installed factory rail as it seemed to limit factory iron sight picture.

Is the factory rail any good btw if I install properly with locktite?

Factory rail will work just fine if your planning on steeping up to a small scope or red dot. My rails have never come loose, so I have needed to use any locktite, sure it couldn't hurt if you were worried about holding zero. If you want to keep the option to use the iron sights I would go with a set from techsights. I have never personally used the railed version that allows a micro reddot to cowitness, but the standard version works great, 100% improvement on the stock sights. Hical sells them for around $100. There are cheaper options such as a set of William Firesights or HiViz (around $50-$60 for a set)

Also add that Skinner sights make a real nifty peep sight setup for the 10/22 TD. They have had some great reviews, worth investigating.

Just ordered techsight from HiCal, it will still leave me rail space for a burris fast fire eventually.
I blue locktighted the factory rail and torked to close to 30 pounds, shouldnt move.
Like you said, not going for a high powered scope its a TD after all

Rideone mentionned them as a first reply.
Looked into them, the techsight looks (and hope is) more rugged.
My expectations arent high with this project, accuracy wise.
A lightweight 22 i can bring to the cottage, with rugged and functional iron sights, shooting 4" reactive targets at 30-35M.
