Sights for a Combination Gun

I've been toying with the idea of buying a Baikal combination rifle/shotgun for hunting lately, specifically a 12ga/.308 model. However, I'm not sure what sights/optics would be useful to have on such a gun. Obviously a scope would be ideal for shooting the rifle barrel at range, but it would make shooting birds difficult. Conversely, a bead sight would be great for shooting birds, but would be inconvenient for shooting the rifle at any significant distance.

Are there options for a quick-detach scope that would hold its zero? Would I have to settle for iron sights or just re-zeroing the rifle at the end of waterfowl season? I apologize if the answer is painfully obvious, I'm still pretty new to all this.

It's best suited to be used as is with the iron sights set for the rifle and usable for the shotgun.
They have an 11mm rail and it's a short rail so if you want to run a scope you might need an offset to the rear adapter rail or ring combo to get the scope where you need it....
If you are not planning on using it as a combination gun, perhaps a nice single shot with switchable barrels makes more sense?
A red dot might be nice if you don't like the stock iron sights and want to keep the weight down, but of course you'd be limited to 1X magnification

This mount is pretty expensive at around $150 but it would keep the scope low and let you mount it to the rear for better eye relief.

Looks like Skinner's rimfire sights will work on the 11mm rail as well which might be a nice option for improving the factory iron sights....

Thanks for the great explanation! Seems like the options are pretty limited then - maybe best to stick with the iron sights to get the most out of the gun.
