So I've got my self a Hawkeye in 35 Whelen, wanted one for a while, finally got it. I really like the look of the Hawkeye 375, with it's open sights. I think hunting rifles should have open sights, for use and for optic backup. So I wanna outfit my 35 with sights like the 375...so the quiestion is what to do and how to do it:
Figure I could call Ruger and see if they would sell me a set of open sights.
Get a nice set of NEGC sights...probably better then the ones on the ruger anyway...but how do I match that flat bluing? Will Gunkote or something like that match it? I like that rap round front sight on the 375, but all the NEGC's seem to come "in the white", so I have to figure out how to match the colour before getting the smith to mount them.. Thoughts? Thanks
