I would really like some better, bigger sights for my 213. Has anyone been able to find any, or modify the existing ones? The stock ones are a tiny, and now mine are even smaller than they were! At first the gun shot way high, so I filed the rear sight till it shot to POA. Then, I bought the comp for the gun,and now it shoots low, so had to do the same to the front sight. I'm thinking if I cant find any, I may try to make some, or weld up the existing sights and file them to shape and to shoot to POA. Might be kinda tricky, since I don't see how you can remoce the front sight. Any better idea's?The pistol actually shoots pretty well, and with better sights would probably do considerably better.

A set of sights plus installation would cost more than the gun. A pistol smith could do the job. I suspect a Colt 1911 front sight would work and he probably has a junk drawer full of old rear sights that could be fitted.

Like Gander said, any kind of sight available on the market today could be made to 'fit' with a little milling to the slide.....

I am currently getting a Norinco 1911A1 slide milled to accept a fiber-optic front and a adjustable rear..... turns out the rear is a drop in, so all that is getting milled is the front sight..... It's gonna cost me about $125, and I am re-finishing it my self (Arma-coat from TSE).

I looked into getting my 213 done as well, total cost was going to be about $350 for the sights and the milling required. I opted to just buy another gun and keep the 213 as it is.

Cheers!

I find mine shoots pretty good, was thinking about maybe taking a small drill bit to put a little mark on them so I can see it easy.

Yeah, I agree on not spending alot of money on the gun, which is why I'm thinking of doing something myself. I figured with the DIY stuff I've seen some guys do here, someone would have come up with a genius way to make the sights better.

I have glued a piece of flourescent red card stock on the front sight of many of my pistols. I use "Hard as Nails" as the glue (a type of clear nail polish). After the glue drys i paint the top surface, to seal it on.

This has lasted several years on the first ones i did, with no sign of wear. I did this to the 213, as well. it helps.

Here is a 1911 with the treatment.
