Sights for a service rifle

One last thing; Is there a magnification limit for SR competitions?

Nope, but you generally want your magnification to be as low as possible. Lots of guys will do well using fixed 3.5x or 4x sights (myself included), but something with a 1x option like a red dot or 1.1-4x variable is preferred by some.

For what it's worth, I am really like my Falcon 1.5x5 for CQB (and if you are going to get in the top 5 I am going to be trying to get in the top 4). I have shot it to 400 yards on figure 11 targets and had no problems seeing the target well enough for good hit. (Not that all or even most of my hits were good but that was me, not my optic).

If you are running one gun for both, run the optic for both and then you won't have to worry about changing out and losing zero.

As for mounts, I have an ARMs QR right now but frankly it seems to take a couple of rounds before the scope settles back into zero. I have to test it some more but for now I would not recommend that particular model for what you want to do.

In some provinces the match organizers have magnification limits, such as 4x.
Check before you buy.
