Sights for Browning HP

I bought the stock, cheaper, BHP new a couple years ago with fixed sights. It was my first purchase. I need new, better, sights for this gun. I can't hit shyte with it. I have other guns and I can hit fairly well with them, everyting but this BHP. I have shot around 1000 rounds through it and , for example, today at 15 yards I hit the 18X24 inch target once out of 16 rounds at 15 yards. It is low and to the right.

Asking for advice on vendors in Canada, site sponsors first, for adjustable back sight and higher front sight.

The gun is rock solid, goes bang every time(even with my reloads) but I have the wrong sights on it. Hard to believe as every gun I have is good out of the box but it is what it is. The BHP is close to the most expensive gun that I own so this isn't making me all that happy, I like to be happy.

I ordered the Millett from Brownells and a new front sight as well. The Millett is on backorder. Cost me $200 all in so this better be good LOL. I guess the plan is to set up a rest around 7-10 yards from a target and sight this baby in. Cut down the front sight till it is a little high at that distance. Sound about right? I just bought another 9mm so if this doesn't work the BHP is my first sale on here.

Perhaps your issue isn't the sights. It could be a shooter or ammunition issue. I am not saying that it isn't possible to have a bad gun, but I have had many commercial BHP's and military surplus BHP's and I have yet to have one that wouldn,t keep ten shots in a 4" x 4" square at 20 yards. Have you had anyone else try the pistol and do they get the same results?

I would be calling Browning personally, that sounds like more than just a sight issue! I have a 75th anniversary edition and I routinely hit sub 3" groups at 25m! Either you have a rear sight that needs to be adjusted (you'll need a sight pusher) or there is a serious flaw in that pistol. Browning tests all new pistols prior to shipping and if it was that off it should never have left the factory. You should have been supplied with a group analysis and fired brass inside the Browning stock case when you received your pistol so I would check it and call if you know for a fact it's never taken sight dmg.

Thanks for the additional responses. I have a number of semi autos and revolvers. This thing is the only one that I can't hit anything with. My BIL just tried it at less than 10 yards and says it is a bit low, he shot 6 shots and all grouped fairly well but all low. I have the rear sight well over to the right now, way off centre. I have added Hauge grips to it to see if that would help. I have tried factory white box Winchester and my reloads and have the same result. My problem is that the gun kicks both up and twists at the same time and this throws me off. The other semis don't do this as bad. I just bought a Ruger P89 so I'm interested to try this one out.

I just checked the box the gun came in. It has 2 fired brass in there and a slip signed by an employee of Ruger. There is no target. The brass is really clean inside but I checked other fired brass and some of it is that clean so must be OK. I'm starting to get motovited to sort this out, could also be worded pis#ed off enough to look into this further!

Both the Browning front and rear sights can be bought at Brownells. The front sights show as in stock but the rears are showing as on backorder. They have 5 different fronts and 4 different rears to choose from.
