sights for norc 1911A1

I got my norinco 1911A1 before xmas from canadaammo and I love it... but I'm not a big fan of the sights. I wanna get some night sights (I kinda like those trijicon sights) or some other really good sights. What do you guys recommend? and who in Canada carries what I would need? Also is it something that I can do myself? I'm no gunsmith but I can follow instructions. Reason I'm asking is that there is no actual gunsmiths in my area. Thanks for the help guys.

Your Norinco isn't compatible with many aftermarket sights, out of the box. You will have to buy the sights you like and have a competent gunsmith install them for you. At the very least, a proper dovetail will have to be cut into the slide to fit the rear sight in your Norinco. Depending on the sights you go with, the front may require a bit if tweaking to fit as well.
 
Well that sucks... I'm sure glad I asked before spending a fortune and sights and not being able to get them installed.

Note: you might need to refinish part of the slide after installing new sights too.

Which province you located in?
 
I installed a set of MGW sights on my NP29. Colt pattern, standard rear dovetail, narrow tennon front. Anything intended to fit this setup would work. If you want something different, then the slide would have to be altered, but that is true for any standard slide.
