Sights for old mossberg 146-b

So, a complete original with canvas sling, both original rear sights and a correct period scope with mounts... Worth $350?

I would not pay $200.00 for one with no sights. You will easily have $145.00 in sights if you want to put them on unless you find someone who will give you a deal. On the other hand, I would pay $350.00 for a nice condition gun with all sights, sling and scope. The sling, swivels, scope, mounts and all sights are worth $275.00 or more. If it didn't have the sling or scope, $275.00-$300.00 would be tops.
I have 2 146's with the T bolt handles and a 146B round bolt. They are nice guns.

Edit--value quoted above is figuring it has an original scope mount on it. If it has been drilled and tapped for a different mount, the value is decreased quite a bit.

In your other thread you indicated that you wanted one of these for possible modification/project purposes. If you take an original example like the gun with the sights/scope and do any modifications at all, you will destroy the value and it will be worth less that what you will have in it. I doubt you would be able to sell it for what you paid if you alter it let alone what else you might spend on it.

Im not sure which thread you are referring to, but I don"t want to modify this one or use it for a project. Perhaps oddly i normally only modify newer cheap guns that seem to come "unfinished" from the factory lol. Or old beaters...
Something like this i would leave intact and just keep for a shooter

Sorry, I don`t mean to hi-jack this thread but since we`re on the subject,, I`ve got a Mossberg question.
I have two Mossberg 22`s, both in excellent shape and I need to find out what is the proper period correct sling for each of them.
One is a model 151M-B and the other is a 42M-B.
The 42m-b has a Mossberg 2M4C scope with original side mounts that came with the scope. I have a Mossberg model 4M4 scope with original dovtail mounts on the way for the 151m-b. I`m not sure if the scopes are correct but they are the only ones I could find. I have the receiver sights but I would like to find the proper rear barrel sights and slings for both of them Any help on the slings would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance, G

I'm not too much up on slings(don't use them).I would say your best bet for info on the slings would be to post the question to the guys on Rimfire Central in the Mossberg forum. They are a world of knowledge.

I agree with Scott. I'm not too well versed in the slings either but someone on rimfire central will be able to help.

I'm going for it. Nice rifle in great condition, all 3 correct sights, quick detach sling, original owners manual for the gun, correct period scope mount and an old warner scope. And I'm only it's 3rd owner! Neat package.

So let see some 146b ####! Anyone feel like sharing pics of theirs? Pics of targets shot? I've got a couple weeks before I can obsess over mine, feed my jones!

Here is the one i just bought.

Nice T bolt. Looks like original finish to plus literature and hang tag to boot. Once you shoot it your gonna be hooked. Looks like your off to a good start.
