Sights for Ruger 77/22?

I'm considering buying a 77/22 for plinking, but I prefer to have iron sights instead of a scope. I'm curious what (if anything) people are using or have used (liking or not liking) Should I expect that fitting sights would require gunsmithing?

I like the style of these sights, though they are meant for 10/22

it would be much easier to get a gunsmith to fit those to your gun.

I'm not against going to a gunsmith if I have to. I tried searching the net, and didn't come across anything that looked like a "quick fix" (most aftermarket Ruger stuff is geared towards the 10/22). I posted this same thread on RugerForum.net, but didn't get any replies. I guess most people just go with the scope. I'll try to keep my eyes out for a used model with factor sights if I can. Though this will be my first proper rifle, so I was thinking more of buying a shiny new one

if you want a good rifle with open sights i would get the cz 455/452! great rifes and for under 500 bucks they kill every other rifle on the market. just my opinoin.

thanks, I have heard good things about those CZs. I've also been curious about the Norinco Mauser/CZ knock-off. I like Ruger, because I have more experience with them than any other brand, and because there are so many aftermarket accessories for them. But the CZ might be a better option out-of-the-box
