I'm putting together a couple 416 Taylors on 700 actions and I want iron sights. Where can I get a reasonably priced barrel band front sight? I'd like a quick detachable peep for the rear bridge also, one that fits a scope base of some type. Thinking of a barrel band swivel too.

afaik the only reasonably available barrel band besides the Recknagel/NECG is the Ruger, but then you have to fool with matching the barrel diameter, by which time you may as well just pay the $70 for the NECG
I'm slapping together a 20" 375 HH on a pre-64 (though I have no idea what for), and I'm going with a talley slide-on peep sight on a talley base combined with a NECG front ramp with adjustable elevation, since the talley has windage only, thsi will be the primary sighting system, not planning on scoping it. NECG and XS sighting make slide on peeps for Weaver style bases.

Got the New England peep on my 700 , mounted on the rear scope base, its a .375 H&H , SOLID, and setup nice with factory ramp front.
