Hi All,

We have made significant changes and updates to our new website www.armseast.com . This includes significant changes made to procedure for shipping to Canada.

Some explanation, for the past several months we had initiated a policy of applying for import and export licenses on behalf of our customers to allow direct shipping to your Canadian address, regardless of items. Unfortunately, during this time both govts, Canada and USA have significantly slowed license approval times. No bueno. The road to hell is paved in good intentions as they say.

So, we have instituted a new work flow for Canadian shipments. There is a much larger document now at www.armseast.com under the header "Canadian Exports". We encourage you to read this and ask questions through the contact link at the bottom of the page.

You now have two choices for shipping at checkout.

A: Direct shipping via USPS to you. This can be used for non-export controlled items such as tools, reloading presses, dies, shooting rests and so forth, as well as many export controlled items subject to Low Value Shipment (under $500USD) including most firearm parts, ammunition components (brass and reloading bullets) and most items that are not -a firearm, -a red dot or magnified scope, -ammunition. You purchase these, choose shipping option A, and the items are shipped directly to you, generally within a few days of your purchase.

B: Routed through Arms East Canada. This option is required for shipments containing firearms, scopes, red-dots and firearm parts over $500 or otherwise not accessible under LVS exemption. As well, you may choose this option for any order that can also be shipped under A, should you wish us to handle customs on your behalf. In this case, your order goes in to our bi-weekly shipment to the Canadian office, who will clear the goods through customs, and continue the shipment to you by Canada Post Expedited mail from Ottawa.

We think these options will provide a better customer experience than waiting for licenses to be issued at the whim of Govts. We are well able to ship everything legal for Canada under our existing licenses should you choose that route, and items that can be shipped directly can be, should you choose that method.

Another update to our website is a live "Shop By Manufacturer" page. This page represents a live update of everything we stock by each manufacturer we deal with. Should you want to browse by your favorite brand, here is your option. This represented a whole load of programming, and we hope you enjoy it and find it useful! Be sure to note the search box where you can type the name of the manufacturer you are looking for.

Some other things. We have tried to make a tag visible for Canadian customers showing which items are currently subject to Canadian retaliatory tariffs. This is mostly working. It should be accurate for the items it is visible on, but there may be some products in the actual category that it hasn't quite managed to stick to, we are still at it, but... if you see a page of rifles showing "25% tariff" and one without, please know that ALL firearms are subject to the tariff presently. Do not take this badge as bond, it is just a visual aid. All firearms and ammunition components are subject to the tariff presently. Most everything else, including optics, firearm parts, tools, range gear, reloading presses and dies and so forth are NOT subject to the 25% tariff. If you see the tag on an item that isn't subject to the tariff, please do shoot us a message through the chat function on the site.

Another thing to be aware of, while we have made serious gains on the overall speed of the site, when in the actual shopping cart and adding or subtracting quantities, we know it is slow. We continue to work on it, but the process of calculating the rates through the shipping calculators takes some time. Please be patient. When you see the dollar value of the shipment change, this means the process is done.

Big note, we have added significantly more inventory to firearm parts and reloading gear. I encourage you to peruse the site, through the various search options available, including the Shop By Manufacturer page. If it has been more than a week since you looked at our site, I encourage you to visit again! www.armseast.com

Finally, I would like to thank you all for shopping from us during this stupid trade dispute. Arms East USA is a Canadian veteran owned business. Obviously we do not support the attacks on Canada by the current US President. Many of us vote in Canada and look forward to a new government at the end of the month! It is unbelievably frustrating to have the CDN Govt attacking our industry in Canada, and then the US President attacking our homeland and causing trade barriers to be put up against out industry and Canadian shooters as well.

Either way, I hope you enjoy the new website, we hope you see fit to purchase from us, and please know, we value your business. We have a chart up now showing time to order to time to receive. We are doing everything we can do to ensure we represent the absolute choice for anyone seeking our wares in Canada. If you have questions for quick answers, please use the chat on the site, or the inquiry form on the bottom of the main page or in the Canadian Exports page for fastest answer.

Thank you for your attention, hope to interact with you the soonest! Now let's all vote Conservative and make life better for all of us!

Sincerely,
Walter

Super happy to hear that! Thank you. Hundreds of hours of work have gone into this since then. We are still working at, some more features and so on, but I'm happy to see it working as it is presently.

Quick note. The 500 dollar #### doesn't apply to anything related to ar15s. Orded some carry handles and they got stopped after waiting a month, just because it says ar15 carry handle. Have to go thru cbsa to return it back to brownells for refund.

Will armseast be shipping canadian legal magazines
Hello, yes. We only ship CDN legal magazines. There is a filter to the left, while looking at the category select the capacity required.

Try from us instead and choose option B for shipping.

Honestly im just gonna get a refund and not bother trying to import anymore. Dealing with csba is a ####ING NIGHTMARE

I believe the point of choosing Option B shipping is that ArmsEast imports the item into Canada, then ships to you from within Canada - no CBSA involvement on your part. If, I'm incorrect, I'm sure dangertree will correct my post.

Update to the site.

You can now enter your password directly on signup. Previously you would enter your email and the site would email you.

Also, in the Account Information section once you sign in, there are now fields to securely upload your PAL and Drivers License, and enter your PAL#, City of Birth, and Shooting Club (for restricted purchase).

Further Updates:
Please read the Canadian Exports section, but TL/DR
-If you select shipping option A - direct shipping (for items that can be shipped directly, less than $500 in EAR gunparts, more than $500 of non-controlled items... mounts, and so on, see the FAQ, all other non-controlled items basically) the system does not assess tax, you'll pay GST to the mailman.
-If you select shipping option B, the system will collect 5% GST, which will be paid by Arms East Canada when they clear your package in to Canada. This route is for firearms, rifle scopes, red dots, firearm parts over $500 total and anything else that you'd prefer Arms East to clear through customs on your behalf.

I think option B is a very good value for many purchases. If this is something that you think might get tied up in postal customs, definitely choose Option B. If you want to order Scopes or Red Dots or firearms, it has to be that way.

More items = greater value in shipping. I encourage you to check out the system. Add a bunch to your cart and check the ship prices. We are less expensive than "Big B" and we ship Priority instead of First Class.

Next, the old menu system is back. We tried a 'fancy' display but it was making it hard to see the AI search window just below the menus. That search is pretty amazing. Try it out, especially if you are looking for a manufacturers part number, it makes it super fast to find.

For Direct Shipping, we ship 4 days (average) or faster. It takes a few days to get everything together, prepare all customs docs and forms, file all legal paperwork and dispatch to Canada. (Same as Big-B.)

For Shipping option B items, we ship AirFreight to Canada every other week then it's usually 1 day to get it into Canada Post Expedited. Most of Central Canada is about 2-3 days then, about 5 days West and East. You will get your goods quick!

Final ask, it you do purchase items that require PAL these days, (barrels, slides, mags +), please make sure you go to the Account Info section in your account and upload your PAL and Drivers License. These go with your package so CBSA doesn't have to contact you asking for it.

Any questions or concerns, pleases use the form submit at the bottom of the main page and the bottom of the Canadian Exports page to contact us. That parts is improved too!

Thank you for your attention. Now come check us out at ->click the name WWW.ARMSEAST.COM. !

Bonus point: The Shop By Manufacturer page is also updated to now only show manufacturers we have current inventory for. This is a super handy page if you know you want to shop one manufacturer. If inventory is 0, they don't show. When you click the page, please allow a few moments for it to load. It is checking all inventory first and it does take a moment. We continue to work to speed it up. Also, don't miss the search function on that page. It's like magic (says the guy who spent about two days making it work!)

Much thanks to the gentleman who alerted us to a checkout glitch that came with todays update. Customers were being logged out between the cart and the checkout. This is now fixed.

Revisions and updates:

-Mobile Ordering now is active. If you are on a smart phone or tablet you should now see everything including the cart and account on the top of the screen. Also note, the product filters are BELOW the list of items showing. To the Categories on top, I strongly suggest you use the drop down in the category list to get as close as possible. IE, don't just click on Rifles, instead, click the arrow on rifles, the choose Bolt Action Rifles (etc). This will open a master list of bolt action rifles, about 20/page. From there go below those rifles to see the newly styled drop down attributes, where you can select manufacturer, calibre, model etc. Please give it a few seconds to sort for each filter you use.

-Next up. Feedback Requested Please! We have changed the way the filters work. I'm wondering what works best for you. Rifles and Shotguns (and some others) are now using a multiple tick drop down (call it A), vs a multiple tick box (B), which is still active on Handguns (you WILL be able to order these again, no tears). The multiple tick, I'm not sure. Does it work for you? What is better A or B? There are search boxes in it as well for filters where it might help, such as Manufacturer and Calibre. The B version looks cluttered (I think) on mobile, but it works.

-Apologies for the outage the end of the weekend. We were chasing speed and flew too close to the sun and packed everything up nicely. Was a lot of work getting everything back and up to speed.

-Bugfixes:
-situations where customer would lose cart items between cart and checkout. Fixed.
-many internal fixes and mods to speed up system including checkout. Still doing some A/B testing to see if current config is fastest/best way for displaying pics.

-Any problems, please let me know. Feel free to drop something in that cart and hit the checkout button as well maybe? :)

We appreciate your business!

Recent site fixes.

-Had cloudflare make the site impossible to get into. Fixed. (Super annoying error for customers getting locked into a captcha bot filter - sincere apologies for anyone who identified the stair and bicycles for three cycles!! gak!).
-Issue again with site removing items from cart when customer log in to checkout. Fixed.

Find an issue with the website? We'd really appreciate a note to info@armseast.com. Rewards offered for quick tips. Sometimes errors like the cloudflare bot-check recapcha circle aren't immediately visible on our own computers. Email store@armseast.com or text us at 561-293-2915. Tell us a problem that we didn't know about and I will reward you for bringing it to my attention. You can send an email right from the homepage contact fields or the monitored chatbox.

...If something keeps me up at night it's the thought of someone wanting to shop with us who couldn't!

Also, we have been receiving goodies including Ruger American G2 with Fluted Barrel in .243 and will be listing some G2 in 7.62x39 as well shortly.
